3rd Trimester

Late Pregnancy Babymoon

So I was thinking that we weren't going to get a babymoon but my DH just told me that we can and I need to pick a place, we can only get away for one day and a night and I was thinking of a bed and breakfast type of thing. He wants to go early December where i'll be 36-38 weeks depending on when we actually go so we aren't planning on anything more than an hour away. We live in Ogden, UT and I don't know what to expect from the snow and tourists. Any ideas?

Re: Late Pregnancy Babymoon

  • I personally would be nervous going away in the winter that close to my due date. Just my opinion.

  • @ECarrera14 My doctor would like me to stay in town for the last 2-4 weeks of pregnancy but I don't think an hour away would be unmanageable. I like your idea of a B&B or maybe getting a cabin that you could snuggle up by a fireplace? My only concern would be getting snowed in and going into labor.

  • An hour away doesn't seem like a big deal, but I've never lived a place where it snows so I suppose I don't understand that risk.
  • I would be concerned about the potential snow, but being an east coast person, I have no realistic idea of how much it actually snows out by you, I just know people here see a snow flake and can't drive anymore (DC metro area). I'm super paranoid so I personally would be leery of going out in potential snow so close to my EDD (I'm not thrilled with travelling 6 hours to my in-laws for passover at the end of April and I'm not due until the end of June), but if you are comfortable with it, plan it for as early as you can and enjoy yourself.
  • My midwife recommended not traveling more than an hour away after 36 weeks.
