My little guy will be a month old when thanksgiving rolls around and, of course, about two months at Christmas time. Just wondering what you are all doing in regards to new babies and germs at holiday gatherings. I'm not a crazy germaphobe and he'll only be around family- not huge gatherings but big enough and I'm starting to wonder with him not having vaccinations etc., anything I should be doing, other than the obvious- having people wash hands before holding him etc.
Re: Holidays coming...
Thats not to say i will expose my baby unnecessarily to illness. I just dont worry about everyday germs.
That experience was enough to scare the daylight out of me. And I am sure disappointed that I broke my no visitors rule. So I'm sticking by my no visitors for the holidays this year rule.
I'll be happier anyway without all the bustle of having to drive or entertain at my house

I worry a ton now because I used to believe people had sense and courtesy. But during my 9th month of pregnancy my mom came over despite being sick (she insisted), lied about being sick (claimed it was allergies), and caused my husband and I to be sick for 3 weeks after and we are adults! Can't imagine what would have happened to little one. We still haven't even gotten an apology and now my mom is blaming the flu shot "we made her get" for being sick and "catching asthma", but that's a story for another post. I guess I am bitter haha.
Long story short it's a blessing the way things worked out. We are looking forward to a quiet thanksgiving and Xmas!!!

We took him out at 3 days for his firs Dr appointment and have gone out just about every day since! I don't let strangers hold him but with family it shouldn't be an issue for us.
I'm with PP, we never even considered not taking him out.
