TTC after 35

Tearing my hair out (possible bfp mentioned)

So, 14 dpo, cd 26. Test day on FF was yesterday. I've been having 26 day cycles and 13 day LPs lately. Though historically I've gone as long as 30. Temps did kind of a bell curve so they're down but still above coverline (and I haven't been sleeping well). Took an FRER this morning with 2MU, no line initially but after 3 mins there was a Squinter (and I mean Squinter). DH can see it and so can a friend of mine, so I know I'm not imagining it. We'll see what tomorrow brings, I hate the anticipation! I'm not calling it a bfp, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Still no sign of AF, other than cramps the last two days. Usually I get brown CM the day before AF, but none of that yet.

  • OMG, this is exciting!!! I can't wait to hear what the next test brings! What was the wait time on the test? Sometimes they say 2 min, sometimes 5. I know you're not supposed to look at it after 10 min. so it sounds like you are in the 'acceptable' window so it really could be something! My fingers are crossed for you girl!

  • FX for you!! Can't wait to hear how the follow up test goes!
  • Thinking of you this morning and hoping for good news!
  • <3 thank you! Still seemingly inconclusive. FRER and Answer test were BFN this morning, but IC was a tad darker and no squinting necessary. Also, my temp went back up to where it was after I ovulated. A friend of mine and I have been discussing my chart. It's possible I ovulated later than FF told me and I may only be 13 dpo. I won't believe it until all my tests are positive ;).

So, I took another test this morning. Got a line so faint it's hard to tell if it's an evap or a bfp. I'd assume at this point I'd be getting darker tests, so my guess is this is probably a CP. I'm somewhere between 14-16 dpo, still no sign of AF. Sigh.

  • Fingers crossed for you @pattersRN.  I think at this point I'd fork out the money and get a digital test.  Good luck!
  • Dang it, @Pattersrn. I hope that line darkens up for you! Are you hanging in there?
  • @PattersRN T&P i'm sorry its not darker today. I'm still cheering for you though!
  • Im sorry its not getting darker... have you considered getting your bettas done. This early in the game its tough to decide if its worth it but if your numbers are doubling I wouldn't worry even if the line was faint. The thing is you have to wait 24 hours between testing for betas anyway, in which case if it is a CP you will probably know by then anyway simply by testing with the IC's. Big Hugs to you! Ive been there too so I know how this feels.
  • I'm so sorry it wasn't darker.  I've been there as well.  Are you temping?  I got 24 hours warning of my CP from a big temp drop.  There's no good way to get that news, but at least I knew what to expect.

Hugs to you.  Take care of yourself.

  • Yeah, I'm calling it a CP. I started spotting today. My temp is still up, but sometimes doesn't drop until after AF starts. If it were viable, the line would be darkening. On to the next cycle, it was only my third cycle so I'm still early in this journey. If anything, I'm comforted by the fact that I know I can get pregnant (I don't have to draw a map for my husband's sperm) and maybe the preseed had something to do with it. Last cycle was our first using Preseed. Also, I get to stay here a little longer with you guys!! Thanks ladies for sharing that roller coaster with me!!

@pattersrn - sorry it didn't happen, but I feel like I'm in the same boat.  I think my last cycle was a CP too, but as you said, it means there was an egg, and there was sperm, and they managed to find each other.  Maybe next month!
  • Darn it @PattersRN I'm so sorry. But I'm glad you can see a bright side to the situation too. Here's to next month!
  • Oh shoot :(. Sorry to hear. But agreed good to know those sperm and egg can connect.

  • At least with a CP there is no down time, you don't have to wait to try again :) also I've heard that the month following a CP is a very fertile month!
  • Bummer, @PattersRn :( I was getting so excited for you. If this really isn't it, I hope it happens for you soon. I like your roller coaster metaphor.  If my TTC quest was an amusement park ride it would be more like a ferris wheel. The car might pause and  rock back and forth for a few moments, but then it just goes round and round as expected. Ha.
  • @rspalding001 yes, that's what I'm hoping. Things are finally moving with AF, and my temp plummeted today. But lordie, the cramps rival for those I had shortly after I had my IUD put in. Ugh.
