Twins are here at 30 weeks!

I delivered the twins via c section on 11/12/15. Preemies and really small but doctor said it was better for them to come out than stay in. They are doing AMAZING!!! The nicu stay will be long and challenging but I'm up for it. Both babies are breathing on their own and drinking breast milk. I'm being discharged tomorrow but will be up here every single day to see my loves.

I'm so in love with them already.
Anyone else give birth this early? I'd love to hear your experience.
1st child DOB 9/3/02

Married 9/2/12

Due date 1/16/16 with our twins!

    @happyandhopeful3 thank you! An exciting time for us but a long road ahead in the nicu.

    Malik was born first at 2 lbs 13 Oz
    Veronica 2 lbs 8 Oz.
    By Friday if things continue as they have with their feedings, they will be exclusively on breast milk. Still through a feeding tube but daily we are making progress.

    Married 9/2/12

    Due date 1/16/16 with our twins!

    They're tiny! We brought home a 30 week drug baby when she was 7 weeks old. She had an apnea monitor. That thing scares the bejesus out of you in the middle of the night. All I can say is I hope a family member can stay with you for a few months after they come home. :)

    Yeah they are but the twins don't seem to think so. The strength they are presenting is fantastic and if they continue on this road of progression they'll be home in no time. My husband will be home and the twins are breathing perfectly fine. No apnea monitor needed.

    @keshakdavis that is great they are fighters! How long do they anticipate they'll be there? Are you discharged?

    @happyandhopeful3 they automatically tell you to expect them to be in the NICU until their due date but we are keeping our fingers crossed that they'll be home for Christmas. By that time they'll be what would have been 37 weeks. Which is considered full term for twins. So we will see. Being off assisted oxygen was a huge step and now they are needing to learn how to suck, swallow and breathe at the same time. It is something preemies have a difficult time doing. They have been practicing breathing and sucking on a pacifier at the same time and doing really well....baby steps, but they will get there.

    Congratulations! You are a strong mama, and I love your positive outlook. Fingers crossed that both babies are home by Xmas!
