Morning sickness

Is anyone else experiencing completely debilitating morning sickness? I have had all day nausea, gagging, reflux, no appetite since 5.5 weeks (I'm 7 weeks this Monday), I am unable to move most days, for example today I was bedridden the whole day. I've tried different prescription meds but have had no relief. My holidays are finished and I'm due back at work Monday but I have no idea how I'm going to cope when I can barely stand up. Is this normal to be as sick as I am?

No, I have Hyperemesis. It's extreme morning sickness. Go to your Dr asap. You may need to take off work. I've had to get fluid iv's for 4 days and Zofran iv. I'm almost 14 weeks and waiting for it to end. It's the worst thing I've ever had. The sooner you go to the dr., the better. Otherwise it can get worse with dehydration and exhaustion. I lost 14 pounds, and it can get dangerous. Good luck! I hate to hear this from anyone.

  • My doctor just gave me samples of Diclegis. It's a prescription med for morning sickness. I'm hoping it helps.
  • I had been taking it too, (not to be a downer because I hope it works for you), but it did not help me :-( I stopped taking it since it wasn't helping. I see so many success stories from it, so I hope it helps you! Best wishes!
  • How did your doctor diagnose you with that? I have all day sickness so bad they gave me diclegis and promethazine(phenergan) and some days I'm barely getting by having good days and then also have very bad days where I'm getting sick a lot. I'm 12 weeks and hoping it's over soon but it's been so hard with work! Just wondering how your dr diagnosed you and knew that you had that.
  • Hi ladies im 10 weeks I've been off work for 3 week now. Just come out of hospital been on iv for fluids for dehydration. Going back on Friday for more fluids and tues for scan. They want to see if there is more than one baby. As hg is more common in twins. Feeling a little better today but very tired and nervous. Hope your all looking after yourselves X
  • Everyone's different so it's hard to say what's "normal" where morning sickness is concerned... My mom was sick for 6 months with all three pregnancies, throwing up constantly during waking hours. I'm 7w2d and have just bad nausea and can still go to work. My best friend would throw up every other day in the evening, like clockwork. It all seems a bit random and luck of the draw to me! So sorry you're feeling so awful! Best of luck to you! xxx
  • I'm only 5wks and it has started as well! Mild mild nausea started, dry heaving a lot and super exhausted! I'm thinking if morning sickness is starting this early what will next week feel like !
