Wierd, scabby areolas?

So this is really wierd, but I'm having nipple issues. My nipples are both very sore and one day, one was suuuuper itchy. Then, about a week later, the same nipple developed a big scab on the base, like I've see when babies are breast feeding (although this is my first and I've never experienced it firsthand). The scab has been there for two days and is starting to itch again. Is this normal or should I be calling my doctor?

I'm experience this too!! Was wondering the same. I'm assuming it's normal due to hormones. I'll ask my doctor at my next appt next week.

Do you moisturize? Sounds like they're dry and cracking.

I never thought I'd have to moisturize my nipples! Sounds like a job the hubby would be happy to do!

I use Burts Bees Mama Bee oil on my belly and nipples. It helps keep them from cracking.
