I know this is a question that is asked all the time. But I was just wondering. My 3rd mmc was Oct the 4th. The doctor has given me permission to try in December. But I have read so many different things.
They did a vaginal exam and scan and said my blood work and all test have show that my body is back to normal.
I was just wondering if you guys have been told similar things. My last ob wanted me to wait 3 months. And this new one says everything looks like a go... I am super excited to try again and get our miracle baby but I want to make sure we do it right this time.
Hi @cammlyn, we were asked to wait until after first AF+ a few weeks, they will be doing some tests on me so he wants to have all of the results in before we start ttc. We are looking at mid-January, based on when AF comes, I am 2 weeks post d&c.
Good luck!

The more research I read the less freaked out I am. My husband and I and my body are ready to try again. So with the okay from the doctor we are ready to start this new road.
We're waiting until Jan-Feb to try again but for emotional reasons. After my MC ended and I stopped bleeding, everything looked great to try again per the doc but I don't feel ready just yet. If I did, I think I would wait to try after the firsr AF.
My doctor said he would like us to wait one cycle before trying for dating purposes after my d&c. We waited two weeks after the d&c to do anything for infection reasons and once we did start doing stuff, we never prevented. I got pregnant 2-3 weeks after my d&c and am expecting a healthy baby boy in February. I think most doctors have a wider range to wait to give you emotional healing time. But, if you are both on board to try right away, I say go for it.

Thanks for sharing this! Does this mmean you didn't you have AF after the MC?
We are 3 weeks out from an etopic and I am 'looking forward' to AF so we can ask about trying again. What date did your doctor's use to give you a due date?
Yes, I didn't have AF between my d&c and my positive hpt. I knew my hcg had dropped though because I got a negative hpt a week after my d&c. I literally got my positive one month and one day after my d&c, so we knew pretty well how far along I should be and he just saw me at what we thought was 6 weeks, ended up being a few days behind what we thought. But, he used US to give us gestational age.
I am not a lot of help here. I am getting a divorce as a result of the way my husband treated me during our loss. It kind of sucks. But it is what it is.
I miss carried naturally at 6 weeks, no D&C. Doctor said to wait one cycle before trying. We are waiting 2. Next month we'll see what happens! My hopes are up, but I'm super nervous now, as I'm sure you can relate
It seems doctors are all over the place with this kind of advice - my guess is some factor in emotional healing time as well as medical reasons. I know a dear friend who conceived both her full-term pregnancies immediately after losses. My doctor has always asked/suggested waiting for at least one cycle after loss. For us, it's always been an emotional pause. As anxious as we are to get on with it, it's just too hard.
And to BriDaily, I am so sorry your loss has been compounded by complications in your marriage. You'll be in my thoughts.

My doctor encouraged us to try again right away, didn't say anything about waiting a cycle. I can see waiting for dating, but I will be temping so I should have a pretty good idea of when I end up ovulating again anyway. Sometimes people are pretty fertile that first cycle and I don't want to waste that, though I expect it to be a weird one. We'll see how we feel though. I just got the bad news via ultrasound so I haven't even really started to miscarry, so maybe I'll feel differently when it's all said and done. I don't want to force it, either.
@FiancB yeah, it seems to depend on the doctor. Where you in my BMB? I was on July '16 and I feel that I saw you there. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Yeah. I haven't updated there yet because I know how much everyone else's MMC stories scared me before having my own. I'm sorry for yours, too.
Im going to be honest my doctor told me to wait 6 weeks, i couldn't i didn't have the patience , you know how you feel sometimes ... Ive had 3 mmc and the 2x that i went back ttc literally like 1 week after is when I conceived 2 weeks later no joke ... and those were my only pregnancies that made it... when i went back ttc immediately. That method just worked with my body.... Don't get me wrong i was still vdery nervous about ttc that soon after my losses ... i still grieve for the... but im glad i didnt hold off on ttc again... be strong don't give up!!!
