What music cheers you up when you are feeling blue?

I have been feeling a little off lately and decided to crank some tunes to try to help make me smile.

My go to's are Hey Ya by Outkast and Come on Over by Christina Auguilera. What are some of your go to's to cheer you up when you're feeling blue? I need more on my playlist.

  • Not so much a cheer up, but a song that helps calm and clear my mind is "Oasis" by Tarja. It's a gorgeous operaesque song. Very beautiful and relaxing. Great for my panic moments.

Taylor Swift gets me all sorts of happy. Because, you know, sometimes you just have to shake it off. Any alternative I listened to in high school like Good Charlotte and Simple Plan, they take me back to those good times of carefree (slight) independence and no bills. Maybe listening to your fav tunes from high school will help.

    Oh, and Spice Girls.

  • I always listen to francesca battastelli "this is the stuff" when I'm stressed. Shes a christian artist but the song applies regardless. Sometimes I need to hear "in the middle of my little mess, I forget how big Im blessed" :0). Plus its really catchy and upbeat and makes me wanna dance lol.

The Bruno Mars station on iHeart Radio is pretty good. It gets me pumped up to do chores when I really, really don't want to do them.

    Which is always.

    I'm sorry you're feeling down @NicknShan

  • So, this is not at ALL current, but my go-to song for getting pumped up or cheered up is The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and The News. It works on my 3yr old, too. But she thinks she knows the lyrics better than me. "No, Mama, it's 'duct tape money, duct tape same, duct tape your credit card to ride this train.'" Riiiiiiiight.

  • Oldies! I have a huge playlist of songs from the 40s, 50s, and 60s and it always lifts my mood. I grew up listening to those songs and can remember my dad singing a lot of them so that might be why.

The supremes, fats domino, the four tops, Sam Cooke, the drifters, the platters, the temptations, Aretha Franklin, just to name a few of the artists on there.
  • Lindsey Stirling gets me pumped up! For those you haven't heard of her she's such talent!!!!! And one of the best concerts I've ever been to! Such energy!
  • Mr. Blue Sky by ELO.
  • Red dirt country such as Arron Watson and reckless kelly
  • Oh dear, I think I have very different taste in music from you ladies! If I really want to get pumped up, I listen to reggae, hip hop, or dancehall. The more inappropriate, the better. Any 'lil Jon fans out there? haha
