FFFC

Go on ladies, let's hear those confessions.

**Warning: Cannot guarantee they will be flame free.

Yes, I'm ashamed. And yes, I paid $5 for this :'( And I didn't realize you weren't supposed to use this "method" after 8 weeks (my u/s was at 9 wks). But, let's be real, it's a 50% chance either way. And, if it's right, my house is going to be overloaded with testosterone soon!

ETA: Oops, looks like it cut me off on mobile. Fixed.

They had a free option on one of them with a 1 week wait and you had to like them on social media (yay for junk accounts!) that I did because I was curious and want to compare when we find out what the sex actually is. Allegedly its a girl but I'm working on convincing myself its a boy to avoid thinking of them as one or the other until we can know with more legitimate certainty.

My FFFC, my parents and DHs parents both know I'm pregnant but were told separately. My mom isn't a fan of my MIL so my MIL doesn't know my mom knows because my mom doesn't want to deal with her yet. Personally, I don't blame her.

So did I...well not the same one but a predictor.   I also got boy, which confirmed my feelings, and now I am embarrassed to think I believed it.

  • H and I are currently deciding whether or not I should stay at home after this baby is born or not. One of the pros to me working is we would buy our 5 acres this summer and build our house in two years instead of buying the land in two years and building in 4/5.

My confession: I feel like the extra "stuff" is outweighing the pros of staying home with the kids. But I want to be able to give them an awesome life! I'm trying to convince myself I'm not any worse or better of a mother just because I stay at home or work full time. Also, I would be able to quit after a couple years and the kids would still be pretty little and we would be in our new house where we would have chickens and pigs and all sorts of stuff for them to see and do.

  • @BPaisley I did the free version of that. They think it's a girl, but only time will tell for sure. It's fun for now, but I don't take it seriously.

I always have a problem thinking of a fffc.

  • @NLewis1 I would totally work the extra two years and then forget about work! But I understand completely where you are coming from. I don't have to work, per say, when baby comes, but me working helps us live a bit easier and give our kids more experiences. My ultimate goal to to be part time, esp while they are in elementary school so I can do the field trips and whatnot. Then when they become middle or high school I would probably go back to full time. Esp. High school. Darn teenagers.

  • Also, my FFFC:
The repetitive posts are driving me nuts, here's a list of the ones I've been eye rolling at the most:

    1.  The "should I get the flu shot?" post- seriously search it ladies, someone starts a new thread about whether or not they should get the flu shot practically every three days.  And every time there's like one token crazy hippy mamma poster who will encourage the OP not to trust vaccines because they're never tested, or they're super dangerous, or some other made up baloney.

    2. The "Is this normal morning sickness?" post- which generally goes one of two way- her morning sickness has stopped and she's very worried that she's feeling better; or her morning sickness is really bad but she's too lazy or unaware that she could just post it on the symptoms thread

And my most favorite thread that I love to hate:

    3. The "Dumb question I could just google, but I don't feel like it" post-  These threads are usually about asking if the baby's kicks can be felt yet, if spotting is normal and how much spotting is normal, if cramping is normal, or some other generic pregnancy related symptom that's probably listed on page 5 of "What to Expect When You're Expecting"

So flame away, tell me posters should be able to post whatever they want- which is true, they should.  But wouldn't it be really great if posters could learn how to use the search bar so we didn't have to answer the SAME questions every day?

    I heart you. Again.

  • I hate people! Don't talk to me in a grocery line. It's weird when you try to make a "funny" comment about why I'm not paying for your groceries as well. ... Uh did you not just see my total and me holding my toddler who is obviously trying to sleep and I am one handedly doing everything myself.. But yes, old man.. I want to pay for your stuff too.. because in your own words " Why not, already had my credit card out? Why not just swipe it one more time?" Get Lost Sir!

Ha! My favorite was on the ttgp boards: "Could I be pregnant?" Did you have unprotected sex? Then yes. Did you have protected sex? Then yes as well. You know how you won't find out if you're pregnant? By asking a bunch of strangers on a message board. Shut the hell up and get a test.

  • My nausea has been so bad the last two days, I've barely eaten anything!  Today I was so hungry, I went to Arby's and got a Friench Dip, a slider and a chocolate milkshake.  I came back to my office, took the meat off the slider and put it on the French dip.  AND the milkshake has made me feel better than anything I've eaten in weeks!  Talk about #fatass!!!

This isn't a FFFC, but similarly, I hate when people do this in the bathroom at work. Like, you come in and they're in the stall and they start talking about how cold it is or how they're glad it's Friday .... I'm like, you don't even know who I am over here! And maybe I'm trying to take a $hit or something.... I don't have any desire to strike up some weird stall to stall conversation with you! There are like two people that always do this and I will avoid the bathroom if I happen to see them go in there right before me. Otherwise, I usually just laugh awkwardly, regardless of what they said, and then get out of there as fast as possible.

  • My FFFC is that dh and dd have had a virus the past couple of days and haven't really eaten dinner so I've ended up scrounging around for dinner because I don't want to cook for just myself. I've been living off of chocolate chip pancakes, pumpkin pie and frozen taquitos. I'm almost ashamed at the amount of junk that I've eaten this week ALMOST.
