Hi!
I just have a question for moms who have maybe encountered this issue before!
So i guess this whole time ive gained only 1 pound. Ill be 20 weeks on sunday and will find out the sex tomorrow.
Everytime i go into the doctors im told i need to start gaining weight. I eat just fine on most days.
The doctor says the baby is healthy on each visit. Im kinda worried theyll find something wrong from me not gaining weight tomorrow.
Is there any tips or insight anyone can throw my way?
This is my first pregnancy.
Re: Weight gain problems?
If your doctor is telling you to gain weight, you should try. Look for calorie-dense foods. Avocado, nuts and nut butters, full fat fairy, etc. Eating "just fine" doesn't tell us anything about how many calories you are taking in, which is going to be the main factor here.
It's good that baby is measuring appropriately, but if your doctor is telling you to gain weight, you should definitely try to do so.
I eat 3 meals and snack. Its normal food. Nothing super fancy. Just pastas, chicken with mashed potatoes and vegitables. I also drink 2% but a few days ago decided when its gone ill be drinking whole.
I weighed myself last night and the scale said like 3 pounds heavier. Maybe it was just atthat time but we will see today!
And by the way i am trying to gain weight!! Im just not trying..
I can parrot what everyone is saying about eating more calories, full fat dairy etc. Add more carbs to each meal, as well as a green vegetable for fiber. (At 20 weeks LO is developing taste buds so whatever you're eating they're already starting to taste, so I'm eating as many vegetables as possible now, and fruit, even though I hate fruit.)
Just for my curiosity's sake, can you list a general meal plan for the day for yourself? I'm not a nutritionist, just curious.
I make a lot of chicken, baked and mostly i have sides of veggies. I aim to eat fruit in the morning with cerial.
Other food i make are pasta dishes like spaghetti or just something simple.
