Drying out breast milk

I know I have already posted this on my birth month board but I thought maybe I would get some more or different replys on this board.

After 1 month I have decided to stop breastfeeding. This has been a very emotional decision for me, and a decision I've struggled with. I did some research online and then I called my obgyn's office the nurse told me to quit cold turkey (that supprised me) and to wear very tight bras and frozen cabbage leaves in my bra. Has anyone else done this? How did it work out for you? How long did it take for your engorgment to go down? Does it ever get better? Thanks:)

  • You'll need the tight bras for the engorgement. Or at least, tighter than normal. I FF from the beginning but the first few days after my milk came in (probably 3-4) my boobs were SO sore.

I've heard that Sudafed can help with drying out as well. I didn't try the cabbage leaves but a lot of women swear by it.
