TTC After a Loss

Intro (loss and LO mentioned)

Hi ladies,

I have been lurking for a few weeks so I thought I would say hello. I am 33, have a three year old son, and am recovering from my second D&C after my second MMC in 4 months. Feeling pretty crappy, to be honest, but we are having a chromosomal analysis done this time and I will also get some blood work done. Hoping for some kind of direction.

I have it in me to at least try once more, but obviously probably benched for a couple months. So frustrating to think the absolute soonest I would have a baby in my arms would be a year or so from now. But this process has taught me to drop expectations and ideal timelines. Thanks for letting me ramble. Best to all of you and I look forward to getting to know you all.

  • @silentP, I am so sorry to hear that. We have almost the same story, except I don't have a LO at home. Back to back MMC this year, and waiting from chromosomal results this time as well as blood work to be done after AF on me and also DH. Then, SIS on me after the next AF... Doctor wants all of the results in before we get pregnant again, which puts us around late Jan before we can ttc again.

But you know what, 2016 is our year! I have a feeling it will be a good one

  • Hi @silentP - I am with you and @klauerinaking in the two MMC back to back boat. I had some testing done afterwards including an SIS and I found out I have a uterine septum so I'm benched until it's removed. When I think about the fact that we started trying in 2014 for a baby and it will now most likely be 2017 before we get one its mind boggling. I hope you get your answers soon - it's definitely all the waiting that makes this so hard.

  • Thanks, everyone! Hoping you all have an easy journey from here on out.
  • *Update* I updated already on the mc/loss board, so apologies for the redundancy for some of you.

We got the karyotyope analysis back today and it showed that we lost our little girl due to Turner's syndrome. The baby had only one X chromosome, where normally you either have XX or XY (female/male respectively). There was a very low chance that she would make it to term, over 90% naturally stop developing within the first trimester.

I am equally sad and relieved that we know this. Fortunately, it is a random mistake and I have no increased chances of happening again.

@silentP , I hope that you can get some answers. 2016 indeed!

Staying positive and hoping for the best in our journeys.
