Update! 6 week ultrasound-only see gestational sac

I went through IVF so I've been going to a fertility clinic for all my appointments. I've had 3 blood HCG levels and they all looked good. I'm 6 weeks and 3 days and today was my first ultrasound and I was so excited to see my little sweet pea today, but the tech and Doctor could only find the gestational sac. They thought they were able to see a heartbeat, but it wasn't definite. I was fairly heartbroken and am now really anxious. Has anyone else had this happen? They said it's more than likely due to me having a tilted uterus that they couldn't find the yolk sac or embryo. I have an appointment for next Thursday and they said they should more than likely see the baby by then. I've gone through so much for this baby and I feel it's just one hurtle after the next. It would be nice to hear if anyone else has gone through this.

Ugh. I'm so sorry. I have been a big proponent of waiting until there would unquestionably be a baby showing during these first U/Ss (due to my history). Otherwise, you end up in stressed out limbo world. For some, you can see very early, others late. So you still could be fine. I had my first for this preg at 7w3d.

Try and keep your chin up. When others ask similar questions, sometimes I get the feeling things aren't going very well. But I think you just may be in that early, wishy washy time. T+P to you. Try and keep your chin up. GL.

I went through the same thing at six weeks. They could only see the gestational sac. It made me so nervous and anxious. But just two weeks later we got to see our little one and hear his/her healthy heartbeat. Don't give up hope yet! It might just be too early still

I had an ultrasound at 6w1d, they couldn't see baby, just yolk sac, no heart beat. I went in today (7w2d) and we saw and heard babys heart beat!! We also struggled with infertility for years, we realized we got so used to bad news after bad news during that time we were expecting that during this pregnancy too. I'll be thinking of you and hoping for good news for you!

I think you'll be okay. Trust your RE at this point. If you have a tilted ute, it's very possible that could be the reason. Or, you could just have a slower grower and in another day or two things will be so different. I'll be thinking of you!

I went for my second ultra sound today and after some wiggling around and fear there was nothing we were able to find the blurry little booger and it's heart was thumping away. It was really hard to see cause of my tilted uterus and it was really blurry but it was there and I got to get a video of it's thumping little heart. So excited it really feels real now! Thank you everyone for keeping me in your thoughts!
