Hi everyone. I'm 8w, 4d. Had my first u/s today. Everything looked good. However, there were 2 yolk sacs and only one heartbeat. Any words of wisdom on this front? Thanks in advance!
What did your doctor say? I had that with my first and they called it a vanishing twin. I'm not sure if it's the same thing you're experiencing, but for us, the second baby stopped growing at 5 weeks while my ds kept developing. We went on to have a very healthy pregnancy and baby! It was a hard experience, because your so happy to see the strong heartbeat but still sad about the other. We went on to have three babies this time, but the doctor thinks that one may also end up as a vanishing twin.
I had that at my ultrasound when I was 7 weeks 5 days. You could even see something in the sack, but no HB. It was a vanishing twin too or an early loss according to my doctor. The other should be absorbed no problem, and they said to go on like a regular pregnancy
She said there was only one gestational sac, so it kind of looked like a lil bean holding 2 balloons. Very sweet. She didn't seem worried about it, so I was just primarily wondering if it's possible that there is another bean hiding behind the one we saw. The machine, apparently, is "super old" and "not that great," according to everyone at the office.
