Hi!
So I had my 20 week anatomy scan, and the ultrasound tech was booked and in a huge hurry. She took me in at 10:06, and said she had a 10:15. When she got to the 'money shot', there were two lines that she assumed were labia, so she said looks like a girl - although the babies legs were together and feet were towards the head. With my daughter, the tech actually showed us the three lines - this time it was more like two lines, let's assume it's labia. Unfortunately I don't have any photos to show. So should I be confident buying pink stuff or have more of a wait and be surprised approach?
Re: Rushed ultrasound - possibly wrong?
We're team green so I don't really have anything to say about looking for baby's sex. It probably would have been best to ask for the picture before leaving but you could call and see if they are still able to print you a picture. If they can't and you really want one then it might be better to just go to an elective ultrasound place because going back to your ob's office for another ultrasound that isnt medically necessary may not be covered by your insurance.
Also, maybe the tech felt that the baby wasnt really being cooperative enough to get a good picture to verify the sex.
At this point I think it's better if you get an elective. They are typically cheaper and because you are in charge you can have them look at the genitals the entire time if you want.
If you feel your sex determination was rushed or want more pics, get an elective ultrasound, otherwise, wait til birth when you can be reminded that LO is a girl (or boy) with every diaper change.
