Something you've learned that may help others

While many of us are new moms, let's share something you've learned that has helped you in the process now that baby is on the outside.

This may be a duh, but I learned that when baby wakes to eat, to change his diaper before you feed him every time. I made the mistake of not doing so only to realize it was pretty full after he FINALLY fell asleep during nursing. I changed him and he was wide awake again and upset if I tried putting him down. It was a very long night.

  • The Jewel kids album works wonders on a fussy, sleepy baby. Worth every penny. Jewel is like the baby whisperer. Our little one is fond of Just Like Penguins Do.

  • 1. When the baby cries during a bath, it might be because he hates getting his hair washed. We now don't do it at bath time and he's enjoying the nice warm bath ever since.
    2. In order to help LO with a bowel movement, I am positioning him in a sitting position on my chest, facing outwards and with bent legs. I call it the pooping position and it has never failed me so far.

  • Finally, I am learning to be satisfied with a new definition of "productive". I refuse to feel guilty for not getting things done...I am feeding and taking care of a little human who needs me. That's very productive!

    Absolutely! I second that !

Totally agree. My house is a disaster but the baby is fed, clean and happy. I have been cooking using my crockpot more and am just trying to stay afloat.
