Any July mama's experiencing crazy acne? What are using to combat it?? My skin is normally perfect but I look like a teenager again with all this acne (
@AshGee18 you're not alone!! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find anything that works. Especially since I'm trying to stick to organic products. I'm eager to hear other's recommendations. If anyone knows of any natural/organic facial cleansers and moisturizers for problem skin, please help us out!
I have been experiencing this too in the past few days. I use Ava Anderson nontoxic skin line and I like it. The whole concept of the company is to remove chemicals from household and personal care products. I think you can buy them online but I bought my set at a party. My skin usually is clear in the first half of the month and I break out in the week leading up to AF. So hopefully this isn't my problem for the next 9 months!
I just ordered the Belli Skincare system for acne (pregnancy-safe brand). I've read that it was helpful to many women who experienced acne during their pregnancy, so I'm hoping it will do the same for me.
I've been using my normal face wash and I usually break out when I'm about to start my period. So I'm assuming I'll just break out all pregnancy. It wasn't too bad with the other two, so maybe this one won't be so bad. Thank goodness for makeup! Lol
I usually have pretty clear skin but since finding out I'm pregnant, it kinda makes sense my skin has been All outta whack. One day it's oily the next dry and itchy , I have a bunch of pimples along my hair line. Time for find a new product.
I started using the Belli products too about a month ago. I was trying tea tree oil, but it wasn't helping and I had horrible acne from my pregnancy last cycle still. The Belli has really kept it to a minimum. My skin isn't perfect, but it's much better than during my last pregnancy
I like tea tree oil for spot treatments and witch hazel as a toner. Unfortunately neither are doing much for the huge cystic acne that showed up only on the right side of my face on my jawline. I'm trying to wear the left side of my hair up with the right side dramatically draping... I don't think there's really anything that can be done about cystic acne (it's deep under the skin so can't be popped and topical stuff doesn't reach it, generally it's hormonal). Drink lots of water and eat healthy, unprocessed foods and get plenty of sleep is probably the best that can be done. Meh.
My acne hasn't been this bad since middle school. I've kinda just been letting it be because anything we have in the house has tons of chemicals in it. I'll have to make a trip one of these days to lush to find something safe.
I've battled hormonal acne for as long as I can remember. I started birth control and clindoxyl gel in 2012 after seeing a dermatologist; I went off bc in April and my skin was doing okay with just the gel, but since getting pregnant, I seem to have a new zit every few days. Luckily my doctor and pharmacist have said its ok to keep using the clindoxyl, so hopefully it doesn't get any worse.
I had a horrible breakout last week. It's since cleared...but I hadn't had that bad of acne in years, maybe ever. I'm not sure what in particular was going on last week. I just did a clay mask to help dry them out. Eventually they healed on their own. But I understand your pain! It's not fun having acne, just doesn't make you feel good. I hope you find your remedy to clear your skin!
I have been having tiny ones pop up all over my face but thankfully its not the big cystic ones. I do wash my face twice a day now to help with the oils and I find that it is helping a bit.
I switched over to charcoal based face wash and it has really helped. I do get at least one new big zit each day, but it goes away after 1 day. The charcoal also really helps with the excess oil. There are several brands sold at Sprouts.
I use coconut oil instead of moisturizer. It has helped a ton. I have had body acne though and tea tree oil and lavender oil as spot treatment is helping to clear them up.
My body is so backwards. Throughout high school I had clear, nice skin and as soon as I turned 20 my skin and I have been having a never ending battle of adult acne. While usually under control, cystic acne has reared it's ugly head and I can't get rid of it! Ahhhh!!! I may have to try Lush's charcoal face wash and hope for the best.
I use the YesTo products. They are pretty safe and help a bunch. I also use coconut oil as a moisturizer. Cold pressed organic. It is a natural antibiotic and stops free radicals. Plus drinking pleanty of water.
This is all super helpful! I've been struggling with cystic acne since getting pregnant; it seems like there's a new one every day popping up! (No pun intended...I know, eye roll)
Same boat. I just bought the LUSH charcoal face wash and the light lavender moisturizer. FX it helps! This zit on my chin needs its own zip code! Last night, DH asked what my "friends" name is. Lol. Jerk face

I'm obsessed with the charcoal face wash from LUSH. It's by far my fav. I'm currently sampling shampoo for my crazy dry scalp.
I've been using Belli products also. I have the face wash and the face lotion. I haven't had any acne problems as of yet (fingers crossed), but these products seem to be working pretty well so far. They also smell really good! The only downside is the lotion isn't as moisturizing as I hoped.
