1st Trimester

:: hey...i'm new(ish)...a little about me...and a poll (of sorts) about CM ::

heyyy ladies...so glad to be here with you all!  congratulations to all of you! <3  i'm new here...well, "new-ish."  my name is leah...i was an avid poster and made *many* lifelong e-friends and irl-friends on here back in 2008/2009 when my daughter, kaydence was born.  would love to know if any of you were around here then, so comment below if you were! :-)

DH and i haven't been preventing since march of this year.  we also haven't really been "trying" necessarily either until the last couple months.  although, i'm getting old and let's face-it...lazy.  sex and baby making is a lot of work (haha), so aside from making sure we did it a couple times in my fertile window that's been the extent of our "trying."  if there was one month i would have liked to have skipped getting pregnant, it would have been this last cycle -- a july baby?  with two other active kiddos, i was really hoping for at least august or september -- when my kiddos will be going back to school.  but alas, here i am and i'm grateful to be here. <3  and i really hope all that didn't come off wrong (as ungrateful?) to those of you who have been trying forever.  not my intent at all. <3

sooooo i got my BFP this past sunday -- so only two days ago.  so it's sooooooo early!  i should have actually gotten my period on sunday, and ordinarily i wouldn't test until i'm a few days late, but i was anxious to find out if i could have some drinky-drinks with some friends this coming weekend, so i tested as soon as my Ovia app said i should.  and viola, positive! <3  now that its happened, we're just praying for a HHP and a sticky baby! <3

now, on to my question...i've been cramping, which is usual for me with my other two.  but what i can't remember is what my CM was like with my other two.  i read somewhere that after you become pregnant, your CM dries up because it's all becomes your mucus plug basically.  well, ever since i got my BFP, i have still been having CM -- and like the really REALLY stringy kind (not clear, cloudy -- even a bit yellow-ish maybe).  TMI...but i even took a bath the other night and saw some floating in the tub.  gross, i know.  so my question is, do any of you remember what your CM was like (or is like) right after your BFP???  just post below what yours was like -- curious to know if it's similar for everyone, or all over the board.  TIA <3  so glad to be here and get to know you all better! xoxo

  • Hi! Welcome and congratulations.

    You should check out your BMB (birth month board) and check in with moms that are closer to your due date. This board will be a continuous stream of women in various stages.

    Congrats! Bmb are where you can establish more relationships than on the trimester boards. People here come and go. As for your CM question, pregnancy is different for everyone so I'm assuming there's a WIDE range of normal.

  • thanks ladies -- yes, i am aware! <3  i chose the 1st tri board because i wanted to see as your 1st tri has progressed how it has changed for people.  so i purposely posted here! ;-)  as far as why it matters, curiosity really...because obviously, as most of us are, nervous in these early days that everything is a-ok.  curious about the CM being an indicator of otherwise.  thanks for your responses! <3

  • CM has absolutely no bearing on whether a pregnancy is viable or progressing. I know the first tri is very scary, but don't try to interpret your CM- it won't tell u anything

    This.
  • Discharge as you described in pregnancy is called leukorrhea, and is actually a sign of pregnancy. I don't know where you read that it all dries up, as the opposite is true for many women.
