Prenatal Yoga

Hey mommas! So I'm looking into adding in some prenatal yoga to my workout regimen a couple of times per week. It would have to be something I can do at home so I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions for prenatal yoga DVDs? I want something that is a little challenging and not really for beginners. Any suggestions? Thanks ladies :)

Re: Prenatal Yoga

  • Beachbody has one that's supposed to be really good.

  • I actually did it at a center through my first pregnancy and loved it. Now with two kids i have trouble finding a sitter to make it to any classes. I signed up for beach body on demand and plan on doing Autumn's active maternity series. I know there is some yoga in that but not sure how much.

  • Checkout the barre3 classes online, I did it thru my last pregnancy. It's ballet, Pilates and yoga and there's some classes just for pregnant Mommas. But you can do a,it of the regular classes just modified.

  • Yoga With Adriene has a great set of 3 workouts, one for each trimester.
  • I really like piyo! It's a good burn and helps me feel relaxed too! I got a couple of prenatal workout DVDs last time and they just felt so slow to me. I will probably do my regular workouts but utilize the modifier more often.
  • I pay ten bucks a month for the Gaiam streaming video channel -- lots of good variety (not just yoga, but pilates, dance, strength, etc.), including some prenatal options. Worth it (although my prenatal yoga is on hold temporarily -- last time I did it, I finished up my savasana with a bolt to the bathroom to puke).

  • I like using yogadownload.com. Groupon usually has a great deal on subscriptions and they have a handful of free prenatal classes.
