  • So glad everything is looking great @mrsschmity!!

  • @mrsschmity how was your appointment???? Hoping all went well!! :)

How far along are you? 9w3d

How are you feeling? So far so good, yesterday was the best day I've had in awhile... Hoping this is a trend!!

Rants/Raves? Picking my niece up from school today to hang out, no one makes me happier than that 3 1/2 year old princess.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing? I could absolutely live in jeggings, a big comfy sweater and my Tory burch flats. My least favorite piece of clothing would be anything a little too tight because I've gained weight (pre-pregnancy) and am not happy about it!

  • ***Question***

How far along are you? 8w3d

How are you feeling? Pretty good except for this low back pain. Is anyone else experiencing this?!?! I hope I'm not alone I didn't think back pain was supposed to be until way later

Rants/Raves? I just want to lay on the couch with a blanket and take a nap!

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing? I love big sweatshirts and sweatpants. On the weekends I live in them unless we have to go anywhere!!! Least favorite is jeans they're just not as comfortable and my favorite pair just threw in the towl :(
  • @MrsB8214 I've been having some random lower back pain here and there as well. I think it's considered normal at any stage of pregnancy lol

@DeePaddy24 Thank you!! My mind is a bit more at ease now. And that is so sweet about your Grandma. Alzheimer's is such a sad disease, my great-grandma had it as well. It is so great that yours remembers what you've told her so she can be excited about it!
  • I am also adding on to mine...not sure whether to put it in the how you're feeling section or rants/raves.

I woke up at 2:30 this morning and could not fall back asleep. Why you ask? Because I happened to feel my belly and realized how bloated I am. My mind proceed to wonder whether it was truly bloating, or whether some of it was fat. I feel soft, and I'm not used to it. I then vowed to keep up on my workouts throughout my pregnancy. All at 2:30 in the morning.

I need to tell my brain to shut the fuck up.
  • @mrsschmity ahhh so glad to hear it all went well and they didn't make you wait until 15 weeks!

    @DeePaddy24 your grandma sounds adorable.

    How far along are you?
    8w4d

    How are you feeling?
Tired during the day, can't sleep soundly at night. Nausea has replaced vomiting for now. Just make up your mind body.

    Rants/Raves?
It's only Tuesday and I'm so done with people. My MIL started asking me if anyone at work is suspicious and then mentioned that "people" have been asking her but "don't worry my lips are sealed". We've been married all of 5 months and are only 25/26, are people seriously asking if I'm pregnant yet or is she making subtle hints that are making them suspicious. Ugh. Whatever, if she did say something, she can deal with them if something goes wrong.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing?
Favorite is a pair of old jeans that I've had for years and have been patched too many times but I just can't give them up because they don't make the cut of jeans anymore and they're so comfy. Least favorite is probably a sweater I got because I thought it would be so so comfy only to have it be soft the first time and beyond scratchy every time past that despite following the care instructions to a T. Boo.
  • So glad your appt went well @mrsschmity!!

How far along are you? 9w 3d

    How are you feeling? Fine.

Rants/Raves? MIL is throwing a fit because we want to wait to announce with our annual Christmas cards. She thinks DH's grandma, brothers & SIL "deserve" to know before anyone. We tried to compromise that she can tell DH's grandma. MIL is still grumbling and said she won't tell his grandma until the day we mail the cards because "she'll just ruin the surprise and tell everyone". Uh, okay then? I hate dealing with my MIL sometimes.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing? Favorite would be my Old Navy compression running tights. They are flat black and can double as leggings, but have a wide waist band that smooths my muffin top. Can you say bonus!? Least favorite: the pile of jeans in my closet from college that I can't fit my butt into, even though I weigh the same.

How are you feeling? ok - better than yesterday.  Have a check-up appointment tomorrow so excited for that.

Rants/Raves? Not much.  Ready for thanksgiving break and lots of food.

GTKY: What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing?
Favorite: Old college sweatpants.  So baggy, so warm.  I can't sleep in them but they are perfect for hanging around the house.  Much better than yoga pants.
    Least: bras.   Stupid effers.
  • @mrsschmity: So glad to hear everything went well today and you got to hear your baby's HB!!

How far along are you? 9w1d according to sonogram (was 8w5d)

How are you feeling? a little nauseous and tired

Rants/Raves? Had our first appt today and got to see baby and the HB! Everything looks great and baby had a strong HB of 174! Doc said I'm a little further along and changed my due date to 6/20. So ecstatic! It feels so real now!  I can't stop looking at the sonogram pics. DH thinks our baby looks like a little chameleon.... Now off to call my mom and tell her I'm home "sick" and see if I can come over a hang out for a little while (she's newly retired). Just hoping she's actually home and not off hiking with her friends.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing? Right now, my fave is a green sweater I got this year that's just long and big enough that I should be able to wear it all through winter. Least fave is like all my jeans b/c only 2 of them still fit me and the waist is really tight b/c of bloat.

    Me - 33, DH - 33
    Married - May 2014
    DH - Low Count/Motility/Morph - Varicocele vein x 2 - surgery (8/11) - success!

  • How far along are you? 8+5

How are you feeling? Alright.  Just want to sleep all the time and not have dreams.

Rants/Raves? We sat at the dinner table last night for 2 hours trying to get DS to eat A green bean (a single green bean!).  She has never been big on veggies.  She finally ate one and then asked for more.  Maybe we're getting lucky.  She chose carrots to try tonight.  We will see how that goes!
GTKY: What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing?
Favorite: anything big and warm... sweatshirts, sweaters, even piko tops, and sweats
Least: bras... I cannot stand them especially right now.

  • How far along are you?
     8 + 1

    How are you feeling?
Not too bad. Boobs are sore and some cramping. I'm not too tired anymore but still have no motivation to do anything. And I'm cold all the time!

    Rants/Raves?
I love boots and every year look forward to fall so I can wear them. Where I live it doesn't get cold enough until around November so I was SO excited to pull them out this morning. Yeah, I can't zip them past my upper calf. My calves (and waist) have become bigger even though I haven't gained weight yet. Confused as bloating weight usually shows up on the scale for me. To console myself I pretend the weight is being redistributed from my thighs. (I figure they'll at least look smaller in comparison?) :)

GTKY: What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing?
As mentioned above, it used to be boots, usually with skinny jeans. Now it's my bright orange one piece zip-up footed pj's. No shame here - I even bought DH a pair so we could both look ridiculous. They're super warm and comfy!
Least favorite would have to be my formerly favorite pair of jeans only because they're starting to get uncomfortable and the waist which used to be slightly roomy is now getting snug which makes me feel fat since I'm not actually showing yet.

  • **Question below**

@mrsschmity and @BakerBird525, so glad all went well at your appts!!

@DeePaddy24: That's such a sweet story about your Grandma! I've lost 3 grandparents to Alzheimer's--horrible disease. BUT, when you have a bright spot like your Grandma remembering and being proud of your pregnancy, it's pretty dang wonderful.

@Sgoldberg247 and @hockeyfan42: I will never understand why family members feel entitled to make decisions about who should and shouldn't be told YOUR baby news and when. Sure they're excited, but it's your baby for goodness sake! Good grief. Sorry y'all have to deal with that. I'm somewhat dreading telling my mom and MIL. MIL is a little Facebook happy and gets intrusive when she's drinking. My mom feels that telling her bible study group isn't actually sharing private news, which I found out when she felt it was appropriate to share my endo diagnosis with them even though I explicitly asked her to keep that info private. Sigh.

How far along are you? 7w6d

How are you feeling? Good generally, although sudden waves of nausea have shown up here and there. Zero warning, dry heaving in the bathroom. Also, very tired.

    Rants/Raves? All good!

**Here's my question. I have my 8wk workup and u/s scheduled for Monday. This was set before I had extra early u/s's done for a cyst. My 7wk cyst checkup u/s showed a healthy baby and healthy heart rate, so the tech recommended I wait until 10wks for the next appt. I emailed my doc to see what she wants, but I wonder what you gals would do in the mean time:
    1. Keep the appts as they are, 2. Cancel the u/s and keep the blood work/workup, 3. Cancel both and reschedule later?

I'm debating over here with no resolution.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing?
    Favorite: stretch high-waisted jeans
Least favorite: too short skirts. I have long legs, so a "short skirt" easily runs the risk of being a lady-parts flasher. No thanks.
  • How far along are you? 8 Weeks 1 day

How are you feeling? Pretty good for the most part, some intermittent nausea and headaches and some cramping here and there.

Rants/Raves? My cravings this pregnancy are super weird, so far beets, cucumbers and oranges have been on the must have list.. I also have this thing now where random stuff people say makes me nauseous... usually just when their pissing me off though haha

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing?
Favorite article of clothing is a good pair of boots, makes any outfit look great!
    Least favorite: Earmuffs = dumb
  • Hello, this is kind of an annoying symptom. During the day, I drink a decent amount of water (I just drink when thirsty)...but I don't pee much during the day. Then at night, I have to get up at least once or twice to pee!! This is sooo annoying!

Thanks @crdo! MIL doesn't even seem to be that excited. Hasn't spoken a word to me.... so I really don't understand the whining.

As for your question, for me, it would depend on insurance and what you'll be paying out of pocket for an additional ultrasound and office visit. I'd probably feel most comfortable rescheduling both for 10 weeks. Though that's without taking into account what the doctor thinks.

ETA: Also, would you be getting the NT scan? That's another U/S in the first tri. (Just thought of that since I'm in the middle of wading through insurance benefits trying to see if it's covered...hah)

    How are you feeling?
Actually today is my first day in weeks where I don't feel sick!!!!!!! A little queasy but not nearly as bad.

    Rants/Raves?
So happy in feeling better. I have an appt on Thursday where we can finally see and hears our little one.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing?
    Fav: I flowing causal sundress
Least: leggings.. On me and on others. Blech
  • My back has been killing me too! Glad to know I'm not the only one. I thought it was in my head or from something else.
  • Thanks @crdo! MIL doesn't even seem to be that excited. Hasn't spoken a word to me.... so I really don't understand the whining.

Hmm, well, hopefully your MIL will shape up soon and stop whining!

Thanks for the input on my question. Insurance coverage and the NT scan are good points to consider. I just looked through my plan, and it appears I'd pay nothing out of pocket for the 8wk visit and u/s. I do plan to do the NT screening, but my practice does them at 12-14 weeks. So, maybe (unless my doc says otherwise) I'll leave it as is, so I'm back on the every 4 week appt schedule.

Isn't insurance a headache to decipher sometimes?! I had to click through I don't know how many menus before I found an actual brochure detailing what is and isn't covered. Good luck wading through yours!
  • How far along are you? 8 weeks 6 days

How are you feeling? Still gross

Rants/Raves? I think I am too tired to complain. Our little pug has been sick so we have been getting up in the middle of the night to let him out. I was already having trouble sleeping so this has not helped. The good news is the Vet isn't concerned and thinks everything will be very treatable. We lost a dog to kidney failure about a month ago so we are a little freaked out about sick puppies.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing? Right now sweats are my favorite...bras and jeans are the worst. Basically I hate getting dressed for work everyday.

Insurance is a headache! Luckily we have amazing insurance that covers all maternity care that is required.  I am not sure about the NT screenning being covered or not but I will just have to call and ask.  My doctor does NT screening anytime after 10 weeks.

While it is a headache, I'm sure glad to have it! As I understand, NT screening is typically covered by insurance, but NIPT (non-invasive prenatal test) isn't unless you're over 35 or have a family history of chromosomal abnormalities. So, I'd bet the NT u/s and blood test is covered for you.

My doctor wrote back a few mins ago, and it looks like I'm going in at 10-11 weeks! So much for my plan, :)
  • ****QUESTION BELOW****

How far along are you? 9 weeks 2 days

How are you feeling? Fantastic! So much better. Slightly nervous about how much better I feel since my last pregnancy the nausea lasted well into my 2nd trimester. But trying to stay positive and not freak out and just accept that this time around is different. Still major food aversions but not so much nausea.

Rants/Raves? Last night at bedtime I was so incredibly sad. Like a huge dark cloud just settled over me. Hormones? I don't know. It freaked me out how miserable I was and now I'm thinking maybe I should talk to my doctor about getting back on my PPA meds I was taking prior to getting pregnant again. Thankfully feeling normal today, just a normal degree of stressed instead of "omg the world is ending and I'm a huge failure" stressed.

GTKY (stolen from yesterday's TTGP): What is your favorite, and least favorite, article of clothing? Today I busted out a pair of maternity leggings to go with the long tunic sweater I wanted to wear, and they are so comfortable I can't even believe it. Least favourite: at the moment I am very frustrated by jeans in general. Maternity ones are too baggy in the panel and won't stay up. Non-maternity ones are getting too tight and diggy. I can't win.

My (stupid) question: does anyone happen to know if modifications have to be made to basic chiropractic care (ie just a quick standard adjustment) during the first trimester? I have black belt testing on Saturday and would like to get a kink out of my lower back first, but my chiropractor is my BIL and I don't want family to know I'm pregnant. I'm thinking I should just deal and wait to see him until I've announced the pregnancy and he can treat me for my prego-specific issues, but I'm curious to hear others' thoughts.

Random sidenote: My April 2014 birth group had a "Stupid Questions Thread" so we could ask dumb little things without starting new annoying threads all the time. I would love if we had one of those here...because I ask a lot of stupid questions, tbh.

My chiropractor had to change our routine a bit. He wouldn't adjust my lower back and focused on my neck and shoulders. I'd wait

Well that's good to know. Because it's my lower back that hurts. Ah well, I'll just deal. Thanks!
