Guesses of gender 12w4d

Had my 12w4d NT scan today, little peanut had legs wide open for a while. Any guesses on gender?

Re: Guesses of gender 12w4d

  • I honestly have no idea what I'm looking for.
If you look at the "Gender predictions :)" right on the first page. That is how this will turn out. Congrats on your little one though!

  • Would you go around and walk up to strangers showing them your child's crotch? That is essentially what you are doing right now. You're only 12 weeks- no one here can tell you the sex of your child as the sex organs look the same at 12 wks. Congrats on a healthy child though..
  • Waaayyyyyyy too early for this

  • If your tech couldn't tell you, we can't either. If you really want to know so badly pay out of pocket for a genetic screening. As always, congrats, it looks like a baby!

  • Congratulations on your baby! But, no. We really can't determine the sex for you, especially not at 12 weeks.

  • A boy oh wait maybe a girl..
  • What? Really? You have no problems showing your child's genitalia to a bunch of strangers? Even if we could tell, which we can't, maybe you should trust your doctor.

Also, it's too early to determine through an ultrasound.
  • THIS peanut has moves, dannnnnnnnng

Thirded! Even though I fell asleep at the end...we were at the drive-in and it was so cozy!
  • Random, but would an almost 2 year old enjoy the Peanuts movie? What age do kids start going to the movies? I have no clue.

We took DD (she's 2 1/2) to see Inside Out and she LOVED it. I always record the holiday Charlie Brown's for her (The Great Pumpkin and A Charlie Brown Christmas) and she watches them over and over and over and over, etc. I've been thinking about taking her to see the movie.

  • Thanks @doozer1345! We might take him this weekend, there's a 9:30 showing and just be prepared to leave at any point. DS is obsessed with dogs and our dog (a beagle) is named Snoop, so I feel like he would love it.
  • @bltbear82 I don't know if you allow your babe to eat popcorn but we let DD have it as a treat and anytime she started to get restless I'd give her some morsels. That helped towards the end of the movie when there wasn't music or bright colors on the screen.

  • I will jump in on the toddlers at the movies piece. My son LOVED Inside Out (the Lava short before was a bit too emotional for my sensitive little guy, but had a happy ending and now he is obsessed with the "Lava Song"). As @doozer1345 said, popcorn is a great distraction! Also, if the theater isn't too packed, I let him sit in his own seat...on top of the jackets and bags. He thinks it is so funny he is sitting on "Jacket Mountain". Or, he gets to sit with Dada which is a super special treat. He also gets to drink out of Mama's big cup with the straw (just water, but still!) and it makes his day! I love doing stuff with my little dude because even the most mundane things are so exciting!

I agree on having a quick exit strategy and maybe find a theater that isn't stadium seating so you don't have to navigate all those super steep stairs while balancing a cranky toddler and bags etc. I did have to scoot out for a second during the Lava short with my son because he was WAILING when he thought the volcano would never find love (like a said, he has a sensitive soul!) so it was nice to be on level ground, pop out, comfort him, and then pop back in without the hassle of climbing the Mt. Everest of tiny stairs. We are definitely planning on taking our son to see The Peanuts Movie @bltbear82 so you are in good company.

PS- when my son was about 6 months old, a local theater had a Mommy and Me movie showing at 9:30am where they had a changing table set up, stroller access, and kept the lights on and the sound low. I thought "Perfect!" and asked my friend (who happens to be blind) if she wanted to come and bring her son. We had gone to movies before and I just quietly describe what is happening during the sight gags and we have a great time. So, we got the boys all ready, headed to the movie theater...and guess what movie was playing? NEIGHBORS! Yeah, with Seth Rogan and Zac Efron and the most raunchy, inappropriate comedy. And there were moms with 3-4 year olds there! Imagine explaining what a dildo is to your toddler. No thank you! The very first scene everyone was gasping and giggling nervously and my friend asked "What's going on?" and I just said "You don't want to know". We didn't last long in that movie.

  • I honestly have no idea what your baby might be, but you'll find out soon! :) I know it's exciting and the wait is a little hard, but it will be here before you know it.
