Question about change in baby movement

So I've always felt little punches, kicks, and tumbling around my navel area. Just recently (like yesterday and today) I've been feeling baby way low down, like in my pelvic area. Anyone else ever feel something like this? I'm not worried that anything is wrong, just wondering what's going on with baby. Maybe she had a growth spurt and is stretching way out? I'm 19 weeks.

Re: Question about change in baby movement

  • I have only felt my baby really low. I can feel the top of my uterus right at my belly button, but evey time I feel the baby its at least 4 inches below the top of the uterus, and most often its closer to my pelvic bone. I have an appointment tomorrow with my a/s and am planning on asking if its typical to feel it so low. At least I can feel it moving :)

  • Depending on position you will feel kicks different places . I've been feeling her high close to my belly button but about an hr ago she was in my left hip area.
  • I've been feeling baby down low exclusively for weeks despite feeling my uterus higher. I just had my a/s today- baby's doing great so I'm not worried.

  • With DS I didn't fee real movement til a bit later, but yes, I felt it all over, and sometimes two places at once. I think one of the reasons I stayed so small was that he was stretched out so much. I would feel his head press on my cervix while his feet were basically under my ribcage.

  • I'm 20+3 and in the last 5 days its movements have also changed. I had my anomaly scan yesterday and all was fine.

I think it's partly to do with baby growing and generally becoming more active. Also your placenta might have moved position so you could be feeling it more. Either way, exciting times :)
  • Yesterday, there was a very persistent knocking down in my pelvic area- it is annoying :)
  • It's normal... they're moving around in there!
