Is anyone doing anything to document their pregnancy?

I have been taking weekly pictures of my growing belly, but I just started thinking about different ways to "document" my pregnancy. I went on YouTube and saw a bunch of really adorable videos that people have made of themselves throughout the pregnancy and then even included a little after the baby was born. Is anyone doing anything fun like this? Looking for ideas!

Yeah I am writing a diary every week for my little one! Both me and my husband write wee messages and weekly updates to remember it all

  • I've been taking the weekly pictures and I've also been writing in a journal to document my pregnancy when I can remember. Nothing too exciting, but I think it might be fun to go through some of the things I've written later. :)
  • I've been taking weekly pictures and documenting small things....first time we had our ultrasound, writing about how appointments go, first time DH sang to baby, weird dreams, etc.
  • With DD I have a "memory box" of sorts from pregnancy and her first year. It includes ultrasound pictures, a few bump pictures
(I took one every 8 weeks or so once I started showing), hospital bands, the swaddle blanket and cap from the hospital, and a calendar of milestones/pictures/weight/height.

I'll probably do the same thing for this kiddo.
  • I've been doing weekly pictures with a chalkboard tracking the baby's development each week. I've also been journaling and want to keep it going throughout the little ones childhood to them when they're older

My sister got me a Chronicle Books "letters to my baby" set this past weekend and I balled and balled. It's such a sweet idea. The letters all have an envelope and matching piece of paper and have things such as "my wishes for you are", "what I want you to know about me", "the world I want to give you is", "one really special thing about you is", "on the day you were born" etc. I intend on starting my own through pregnancy and talking about our bond from the very get go, and filling out the pre-made envelopes once baby gets here. My husband is in the military, and will be deploying just a few weeks after the baby is born for 8 months, so I'd like to get him a book too for him to write letters to baby to open later on, and intend to have him write to baby while he is gone as well as record lots of videos of reason bedtime stories/prayers, etc. Once my belly gets more defined I will start with some pictures :)
  • Maybe it's "second child syndrome" or just the fact that we are in the middle of stuff like getting a house ready to sell but I've done like...nothing. I have one weekly photo...from 7 weeks ago. I keep forgetting to take them. I've never been good at the journal thing. I never even kept a baby book after my DD was born. Apparently, I'm horrible at documenting things. lol. Honestly, though, I'm okay with that. If it's not my "thing," it's not my thing and I don't think it's a big deal. I refuse to feel guilty about it. :)

  • I'm terrible at documenting things, but when DS was born I started a gmail account for him and I email him every free weeks with milestones. And friends and family love it, I set up an away message but they can send me pictures and say hi. Also we have a photo stream for current updates.
  • I'm just doing a scrapbook. The old school kind with stickers and ribbons and tons of glue...lol. My DDs goes till 5 years and now we have a school scrapbook started for her. I'll do the same for this LO. I can't seem to get into journaling though...blah

  • I take pictures at random, but will probably take them more frequently now that my bump is here and growing. I started a journal the day after I got my BFP and wrote in it once a week in the beginning but now it's more like once every 2.5 weeks. It just got kind of boring when all I had to talk about was nausea in the first tri. I haven't even written an entry to announce that it's a girl yet, I keep forgetting. But I will!

I'll definitely make a baby book/scrapbook once she is born. My mom made one for me and she still breaks it out on my birthday and makes everyone look through it. Having it has always made me feel special and more connected to her and my childhood.

  • I've been scrapbooking, putting the ultrasound images in there, pics of the 3 positive tests I took, letters and screen shots of texts from people when they found out, the results of the DNA test when I found out he was a "he" and he was healthy. Everything basically! I don't love being in pictures myself, but I want the journey still documented.
  • I'm taking weekly bump pictures and doing a pregnancy journal. I haven't written in it for a few weeks, but I plan to tonight!

I've done nothing yet.  I mean I have  the first ultrasound picture and I bought one of those premade baby books where you can put pictures of you bump and stuff in it.  Yet I cannot do the bump picture thing yet.  I'm 12weeks 6 days and I have no bump.  In fact, I've actually lost about 12lbs since the beginning of this pregnancy and my regular pants are falling off of me. Not sure what that is about!  Most of my weight is around my belly so even if I had a bump, I would not be able to tell it for a long time.
Edit: because I hit save too soon.
First pregnancy (that we mc in Feb) I kept a little journal and wrote letters to the baby.  I still think the letters could apply to this one, but at the same time they don't.  I'd feel weird using those for this baby.

  • I take a bump picture every week after church (because I have cute clothes on and my hair and makeup done haha) and will put them all together in Flipagram at the end with the last pic of me holding baby :)
I also will document with weekly posts on my blog like I have with my past two. Pic of fruit, cravings, weight gain, etc.
  • I've been blogging doctor appointments and keeping the ultrasound pics.  I kept a blog when we were adopting our first child and it is fun to look back at those memories. I don't think I am going to do belly pictures.

  • I'm writing a journal every so often for my LO and creating a scrap book with ultrasound pictures, hospital bands, ect. Maybe it's the hoarder mentality that I developed during pregnancy but I feel the need to hold onto everything so that I can pass on it to LO so that they can understand the importance and impact that they're have had my and SO's life.
