Re: MONDAY SYMPTOMS

  • How far along are you? 10+2

How are you feeling? Tired, RLP, upset stomach

Rants/Raves? 2:00 can't come soon enough!! Today is the day. My first OB appointment. I am so anxious. H is leaving work early and meeting me there. I was looking at the clinic's website this morning - they had a page about what to expect at your appointments. There was one part that said "Starting at your 15 week visit, we'll listen to your baby's heartbeat with a doppler".... wha??? I'm really hoping that doesn't mean I'll have to wait ANOTHER 5 weeks before we get to hear/see anything. I will be so sad if that's the case.

GTKY: This is hard. I'm gonna go with my sense of smell. I don't think I'd miss that one as much as the others if I ever lost it.

  • @mrsschmity sorry you aren't feeling well and I hope you at least get to hear your baby's hb today!

    How are you feeling?
Food aversions are going away (woo, excited for eating meat again!). All day nausea is easing. Daily pukes are still going strong. I'm honestly quite content with this set up for now, especially since I've finally managed to master the quiet puke so maybe people at work don't notice. A girl can hope, right?

    Rants/Raves?
My biggest craving this weekend was cool ranch doritos and I ate far more of them than I would like to admit. My husband says its his genes coming out in the baby since I'm not craving any fruits or veggies which normally, I quite enjoy.

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up?
Probably taste. So much of "taste" is actually smell so I could still at least pretend to taste based on smell and smell could then be used for sniffing other things too.
  • @mrsschmity: Sorry you're not feeling well. Tell us how the appt goes! Hope you get to hear and see baby today!

@sgoldberg247: Glad you're starting to feel better!

How far along are you? 7w5d ish

How are you feeling? Cranky, haven't been sleeping great, dry heaved a handful of times after I got up. Yay Monday.

Rants/Raves? DH was a rock star and refinished our stairs this weekend. I offered to help, but he refused out of worry for the little one. So, I raked leaves--I got to count that as exercise! The downside to the stair project is that we've slept with all the upstairs windows open and the attic fan on the last 2 nights to vent out the poly fumes. Brrrrr. BUT, we are really happy it's done, and we love how it turned out.

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? If I could decouple smell and taste, I'd have to lose smell.
  • @Sgoldberg247 Thank you! Glad you're starting to feel better. And the doritos craving...ditto. On chips and anything salty.

@crdo Sorry you're not feeling so hot today :( And raking leaves most definitely counts as exercise. Tis the season for house projects! We are in the process of doing the same. Next month is replacing all of the ceiling fans/lighting, and getting the laminate wood floors put in.

@mrsschmity Good luck today! I hope you get to both see & hear today (not until 15 weeks? that's silly.)...I can't wait for an update!

    How far along are you?

    How are you feeling?
Ugh. Not good. Headaches, sore back, upset stomach, cramps...blah!

    Rants/Raves?
It's a PA Day at school, & the principals are away at a conference so teachers were just to come in & clean & prep some things. I figured this would be an okay day to miss, especially given how awful I feel, so I'm curled up on the couch under a pile of blankets. I might feel like crap, but at least a quiet day home should help. And I didn't have to worry about having a supply come in for me.

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up?
This is tough. I'm going to have to copy @crdo 's answer...I'd lose smell if it could be decoupled from taste. There are so many terrible smells I could do without, haha!

How far along are you?  10/2d

How are you feeling?  Y'all.  I have been feeling pretty good nausea wise the last week or so.  I ate my cereal and banana this morning.  And then I threw it up 20 minutes later.  This was the first time throwing up due to baby.  Oh my.   And I'm tired tired as it gets.

Rants/Raves?  Not much.  Everyone (family wise) knows now.  My SIL is convinced I'm having a girl and I just don't want to hear it.  I don't care gender either way - but I can wait until the 20 week appointment before speculating.   If i'm not guessing, then I don't think anyone else should.  *Yeah right...dream world.

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up?  Def. Taste. Hopefully then I wouldn't crave junk food.
  • How far along are you? 8w 4d

How are you feeling? I am finally able to eat three meals a day again! I just wish I could sleep without having multiple crazy dreams!

Rants/Raves? We saw our little peanut Friday and heard the heartbeat.  I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders because we finally told our family!

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? Smell.  No questions asked.  I think I would eat so many different things if I couldn't smell them.

How are you feeling? Tired, vaginal pain, irritable

Rants/Raves? Im just tired all the time and cant really eat at all. My vagina feels like it will fall to the ground. Working is becoming increasingly difficult this 1st trimester.

GTKY: I want the sense of smell gone! I smell everything and everything makes me sick to my stomach.

  • @Sgoldberg247 Thank you! Glad you're starting to feel better. And the doritos craving...ditto. On chips and anything salty.

I am right there with you ladies on the salty. I ate a snack of pickles and crackers yesterday. Doritos sound good now, too!

@mrsschmity: Thanks :) And yes, tis the season indeed! Wow, between all the painting you've done, the new fans and lighting, and nice new floors, I'll bet your house will be gorgeous!
I've got some ceiling paint to finish this week, and a little tile work. After the holidays it's kitchen time. Build new doors, paint doors and cabinet boxes, new countertops, install backsplash. I'm tired just thinking about it.
  • @mrsschmity: Hope you feel better and that everything goes well today!! Keep us updated!

How are you feeling? Not too bad today. Respiratory infection is almost gone, so yay! Today, just feeling a little bloated and tired - nausea usually hits around 10:30-11. Oh, and nips still sore and also itchy today.

Rants/Raves? SO SO excited about our first OB appt tomorrow! Decided to take the whole day off and am planning to go see my mom and finally tell her the news (and hopefully show her an u/s pic!). Just trying to get through today though. Mondays are the worst!

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? Probably smell. There are so many times my nose is stuffed anyways and I can't smell a thing.

  • @DeePaddy24 Thank you! I was thinking the same thing. With all the ladies I see here getting both an US and doppler much earlier, I can't see why they'd make me wait! We shall see. Sorry you're feeling so crappy :(

@KOR121 I hope the visit from the vomit fairy is short. Feel better!

@mom2beEbby In all seriousness, I hope your vagina feels better. That does not sound like fun.

@crdo - Dude, house projects are WORK. We've been in our house for 2 years (renting at first) and just recently bought it in July. It needs some work, so I'm really excited to finally be getting some of these projects done! The big one will be the downstairs - it's completely unfinished. I'm hoping we'll at least be able to get started on it before baby comes. Sounds like you guys have a lot going on too! So many ideas. I need a nap now.

  • All of you ladies make me feel like a slacker.  We have talked about painting 1 room in our house for the past year and we just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.  The nursery will probably be the first room that we paint... and then it will probably be another year before we actually get done what we wanted.  Kudos to all of you DIY-ers!

How are you feeling? Holy nausea.  I feel like crap and I am doing my best to hide it from my boss, who I am travelling with today.  Ugh.  I feel like it I just threw up, I would feel better... but nothing so far.

Rants/Raves? OB appt. tomorrow and I'm considering being "sick" all day.  I want to take a sick day anyway.

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? Smell! Then maybe I wouldn't feel so gross right now?  Wishful thinking, I'm sure.

Rants/Raves? Finally had my first "real" appointment today and heard the heartbeat! 175/180 range and everything was great. :)

@mrsschmity excited for your appointment today- I hope you get to see/hear the heartbeat!!

@crdo I can't believe you raked the leaves! You are a better wife than me!

Sorry to everyone else feeling like crap today, as if it being Monday isn't bad enough!

How far along are you? 9w2d

How are you feeling? Okay right now, my nausea is more night time based. Been having headaches and some random stretching pains, but nothing else major besides nausea.

Rants/Raves? We were supposed to visit SIL for our nieces first birthday this weekend but it's an 8 hour drive each way so we canceled... I couldn't imagine being in the car feeling like sh*t. I kept me personal day today though- just woke up! :)

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? Right now? Smell!!! DH was eating sunny side up eggs across the table from me Saturday and I almost died... Bleeehhhhh

  • @matthewsdm Glad to hear everything went well at your appt today! How exciting :) Since it was your first appointment, did they do an US as well? Or just listen to the heartbeat? I am a few days behind you at 10+2, so I'm just curious. I know all OB's/doctors are different on the timing of getting an US/hearing the HB, so I'm not really sure what to expect.
  • @mrsschmity since she was able to easily find the HB, my Dr didn't do an ultrasound. Since this is my third and everything was on track and normal, she skipped the US for me! I did have it at the first appointment with my two DD's though, so you might luck out.
  • How far along are you? 10w6d

How are you feeling? AWFUL :(. I'm waiting for this constant nausea to ease up a little and so far nothing. 6 weeks of this is not fun. I'm at work trying so hard to not let it show on my face that I feel like I could vomit any minute.

Rants/raves - I wish there was more time in the day. My SO and I just bought a house and we were working on it all weekend but there is still so much left to do.

GTKY - Like most of you ladies I would give up my smell in a heartbeat! Every time I walk into my crossfit gym I want to vomit because of the horrible B.O smell that just seems so intense lately.

YES, house projects for us 1. Always involve more trips to the hardware store than we thought, 2. Cost a little (or alot) more than we thought, 3. Take longer than planned (usually), and 4. Often lead to a pandora's box of other issues :) But what can I say, it's fun!

We bought almost 2 years ago, and have been cranking on projects basically the whole time, with a few months of breaks here and there. I love that we've been able to put a lot of sweat equity into the house, but it'll be nice to get to the point where the major projects are all done.

Phew, lots on your list! It'll be great when it's all done I'm sure.

Side note: I Googled the risks of breathing polyurethane fumes while pregnant. Scary. I shouldn't have done that. We kept the house well-ventilated, but still. Yikes.

@Kballew10: To me, painting is not my favorite thing to do, so I understand putting it off, haha!

@laurenm2123: This is the one and only time I've raked this season, lol. The weather was beautiful where I live Saturday, and I wanted to take advantage of it as well as the hours I actually felt good! Then I needed a nap.

Hope all you ladies not feeling well today get some relief soon!
  • How far along are you: dating scan a few weeks ago puts me at 8+5 today. I say it is a filthy liar and I am more like 9+2 (those extra days count. :-P)

How are you feeling: Crappy. Which sucks because last week my symptoms were getting better, but then I was nervous because I wasn't feeling sick. So then come Friday I am back to intense nausea, horrible headache, and my boobs hurt. I am also trying to not take any meds at all if possible, so when my hubs reaches for a Tylenol for his "headache" I feel like punching him in the jugular. (I wouldn't. I swear.) All weekend I have felt like I have been constantly hung over, but without the fun getting drunk part.

Rant/Rave: I get frustrated by the whole "don't tell people you are pregnant til you are past the first trimester." Mostly because I feel like hell but have to keep coming up with excuses for it. And I'm sure when we finally tell people they are going to go "I knew it! I knew when you looked so exhausted and pukey". Well, if you had a suspicion, THEN WHY DIDNT YOU OFFER TO DO SOMETHING TO HELP! Rave though: my S/O is wonderful. He lets me complain, let's me talk about the pregnancy, keeps me calm when I get nervous, and has been awesome about feeding me what I can stomach and rubbing my back in the middle of the night so I can get some sleep.

GTKY- Ive thought about this so often! I don't even know what I would be able to do without. As soon as I think about losing a sense, I think about all the things I would miss. I'll go with taste though. Maybe if stuff didn't taste so good, I would weigh less.
  • How far along? 9w5d.

How are you feeling? Not bad today. I started a anti nausea medication Saturday night. Feeling a lot better. No more puking and appetite is back.

    Rant/Raves None today.

GTKY Without a doubt sense of smell lol.

    How far along are you?
    8 weeks today!

    How are you feeling?
I woke up yesterday and today for the first time without feeling sick so that's a plus! Other than that just a little crampy and sore boobs.

    Rants/Raves?
After having to pull out my fat jeans over the weekend (I can still fit into the old ones, but muffin top is neither a good look nor feel) I was a little depressed that I had put on too much weight already, as I'm trying to not gain until 2nd tri. I got on the scale this morning and was elated to see that I hadn't gained! I guess everything's just sort of shifting around?

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up?
Taste for sure. Like many others said - much of taste is smell. And even if it still sucked at least it's be easier to give up some unhealthier food choices.

How are you feeling? Pretty good, I haven't had any morning sickness so far. Cramps here and there, but can't complain.

Rants/Raves: Had a great appt today, got to see my baby's heartbeat <3 Only rant is I can't carry anything heavy (Dr's orders) and I am baptizing my niece this wknd which will be so hard not to hold her while they baptize her. My husband is watching me like a hawk too :/ But I am extremely happy about seeing the HB.

Sense of Smell would be my choice...especially since I can smell anything and everthing right now ..

Had to lol! Pre-pregnancy I could not even stand the smell, let alone the taste of Doritos! DH bought some the other day and since they suddenly looked good I tried one. Then I couldn't stop - they were freaking amazing! Then I noticed they have msg...told DH to keep them away from me. But no wonder they're so good....

  • Hey all, I know a haven't been around for a few days. I have some catching up to do cause I can see you all have a lot going on.

How are you feeling? Meh today but I'm not heaving as often as I used to.

Rants/Raves? I had a great weekend cause DHs cousins and their baby came to stay. It was great practice! I started crying at one point cause I was singing him a Spanish lullaby and right as I was at the end he gave me the biggest smile he's ever done and I burst into tears. And DH was having such a blast and was making him giggle and sqeaul with joy, he even would try and jump up to help when momma needed something like paper towels or a bib faster than his cousin could respond. Lol. It made us much more excited!!

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? Oh god I don't think I could choose!
  • How far along are you? 9w5d

    How are you feeling? TIRED!

Rants/Raves? I'm irrationally bitter that I have to work when I'm this tired. I hate that I have to save as many PTO/sick days as possible to use for maternity leave meaning I can't use any now. I want to just take off a week and SLEEP.

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? Smell for sure. While I would miss what it does for my food and beverage consumption it is also the one I could only see sometimes being a benefit not to have.
  • How far along are you? 9 weeks 1 day

How are you feeling? Actually not bad. Nausea has really subsided today but food aversions are still in full force. But I don't feel like I have to eat something every 10 minutes to keep from puking so it's not so bad being picky. A little stressed-out and scatterbrained today but that's pretty normal for me :/

Rants/Raves? I knew I was going to have a crazy busy day, so I took my 19-month-old to her dayhome (even though she usually only goes tues-weds-thurs). She used to go to a dayhome that she hated and scream and fight and try to get me to stay or take her with me every morning. This new one she's been at for just over 2 weeks is so much better...I'm so thankful I found her. Olive still gets sad when I leave her but she tries to be brave about it. She sniffles softly and her bottom lip quivers like crazy, but she still walks over to the new dayhome provider, lets her pick her up, and then turns back to me and gives me a "bye bye!" while choking back tears...it's pretty heartbreaking but I'm so proud of her and happy that she knows she'll have a good time there even if she's sad to see me go.

GTKY: If you had to choose to live without one of your 5 senses, which one would you give up? I think sight. A close family member recently lost her hearing and it's really made me appreciate what a crippling loss that is for your ability to communicate and just be a part of things. Can't imagine losing any others either. I think I would adapt to blindness the best, but obviously it would still be pretty rough!
