Do you temp on IUI cycles?

Hey everyone.  I did a search but I was unsuccessful at finding this question answered... I'm on CD1 and doing my first IUI this cycle.  Do you ladies temp when you're doing an IUI?  I've never temped before (just used OPKs) but I know how important and more accurate it is when TTC.  I wanted to start temping this month so I could track my temperature fluctuations my entire cycle, but I'm not sure if there is any point especially since I will be doing injections?  Any info/recommendations are appreciated!  Thank you!

Re: Do you temp on IUI cycles?

  • I have heard most people don't temp when on fertility meds bc they can mess with your temps and make it not accurate. It might be even harder to notice if they are accurate or not since you have never temped before.

RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS  RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary.
Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16

  • I've heard the same @twomommiestobe . The fertility meds wIll mess with things . It's probably for the best ... I feel like adding in temping could just be an added stress when we already jump through so many hoops to get pregnant . If the doc does plenty of monitoring appointments you should be good !! Good luck !!

    Me: 29
    DH: 29
    Us: Married Valentine's Day, 2015
    DH: No issues.
Me: PCOS, unexplained infertility (whatever that means!!)
June 2015 Medicated TI cycle: BFN
July 2015:  Medicated TI cycle: BFN
August 2015: IUI: BFP. Chemical pregnancy :(
    October 2015: IUI: BFN
January 2016: Egg retrieval: 10 frozen embryos!
March 2016: FET Cycle- 2 embryos transferred!: BFP !
  • Everything you are saying makes sense.  Since I'm being monitored so closely by the RE I guess it doesn't make much sense to add temping to the mix.  Thank you!
