During an anatomy scan it was discovered the placentas aren't functioning well. This is slowing the flow of the umbilical chords to the babies and because of that they decided I need to be monitored around the clock. What was scheduled as a visit turned into a permanent residence. I've moved in. But, I'd rather them do everything they can to keep our babies healthy. I'm 30 weeks 4 days today and they're hoping I can make it to 34 but if things make a turn for the worse we are looking at an emergency c section.
Has anyone delivered twins this early? I've been reading up on complications from an ineffective placenta and the risks of delivering this early but I'd love to hear from some other moms.
No personal experience, but I had my 28 week checkup yesterday and the doctor was talking about the viability of the twins at this point being really great! Maybe that will help ease your mind some... Good luck!
@keshakdavis I am thinking of you and praying for you and your babes! Do you have an update?
From everything I read, 32/33 weeks is a great benchmark to hit, as the likelihood for severe disabilities are the same as full term babies. I also was talking to a NICU nurse for 34 years at my shower yesterday and she said 32 weeks should be my goal to hit. You are so close!
