*I just realized that the TTW or WTO threads have the option to put TTA, therefore I'll probably just make this a weekly GTKY thread without all the other stuff we put other there. Feel free to answer just the GTKY questions if you like!"

For how long? Until July 2016.

What are you frustrated with? I realized I may want to move TTC up to May, but my sister is getting married in October and I don't want to be super pregnant :(

What are you thankful for? I got a 91 on my first big grad school paper! WHOO!

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? We do a Christmas eve box with pjs, a snack, book, and a movie. It's a cool tradition. My Husbands family does a dirty santa every year too.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? Mine is very random. I dislike organized trees just because I think it takes some of the fun out of it.

For how long? Until Summer-ish, sooner if I can break-down, I mean, convince, my husband

What are you frustrated with? My husband is on a 2 week business trip to both Australia and New Zealand. His business trips consist of going out to paid for expensive dinners, drinking and making friends, like hardly any work. I couldnt come with him because I am out of vacation days this year so a) I'm frustrated I am not on a cool vaycay and b) I AM SO BORED without him. I love having someone to talk to every night.

What are you thankful for? My amazing life, job, friends- I seriously have the best life.

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? Our traditions are things most people fine weird, but whatevs. On Thanksgiving my mom, sister and I always went out to a restaurant for our meal instead of cooking. We usually find some ridonkulously fancy restaurant in Manhattan and go to town. On Christmas Eve we always had fondue. We always saved one gift for Christmas Eve dinner. On Dec 26th we always decorated the tree with new years decorations. And the tree had to come down on Jan. 1st or it was bad luck.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? By color? I dont know what that means, really. Our trees were always chic. We didnt have nostalgic or tchotchke ornaments- everything was all whites and golds and silvers and purples. It always looks like it was right out of a magazine.

    For how long? Until April

What are you frustrated with? Time is moving SOOO SLOWLY

What are you thankful for? How smoothly life is going right now

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? We don't really celebrate the winter holidays much, but my husband and I do like to go get Starbucks and drive around looking at lights. It's something my mom used to do with me, and how he and i do it together.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? I think next time we move I may start having a tree. So far I've never had one but it seems like it's worth a try. I like the ones that are themed and/or done all in one color.

For how long? Until June/July 2016

What are you frustrated with? DH was supposed to be home from his 3-week long TDY today, but have to wait until Thanksgiving. :(

What are you thankful for? My family visiting and being able to hang out with my puppy. And work benefits, like sick leave. And that DH's nearly-ruptured ear is getting better.

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? I love spending my time with family! We decorate the tree together and open a gift on Christmas eve.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? Put whatever wherever! I love all sorts of color and baubles all over the tree.

  • @Bethechange23 I love that Christmas Eve box idea, so fun!!

    TTA/TTC? TTC

For how long? In my 4th cycle now...

What are you frustrated with? Not really frustrated with anything right now, that's pretty awesome! Mildly frustrated with TTC but I just keep reminding myself that it could take a while, and besides we had really good timing this month. Fingers crossed!

What are you thankful for? Thankful right now for having an amazing job that I love -- the people I work with are truly awesome and I can honestly say I have so much fun every day at work. I don't think a lot of people can say that!

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? We do a lasagna dinner on Christmas instead of a traditional Christmas dinner, and I love it! My mom started doing it several years ago when she got tired of roasting a turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also last year my DH and I started having my family down for the weekend before Thanksgiving since we go with his family on the actual holiday. It was a hit, we're doing it again this year, and hope to make it a long lasting tradition!

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? Whatever we want wherever we want :) We have lots of ornaments from childhood and from different times in our lives, it makes me happy to look at the tree and remember so many different things and times.

    TTC since May.

    Cycle 7/calendar day 11

Not really frustrated with anything, except maybe the stock market? We lost $2,500 this week, which I know is to be expected but it's always hard when that happens.

Thankful for our upcoming vacation starting Thursday - we really need a brain break!

No major holiday traditions, it's just a nice time of year to see family.

Mismatched ornaments on trees drive me crazy, and home decor isn't a financial priority for us right now, so our handmedown tree only has white lights.

For how long? Since October 2015. 2nd Cycle.

What are you frustrated with? Not too terribly frustrated. The TWW is kind of stressing me out, but I have to keep reminding myself that it is a process and it will happen when it will happen.

What are you thankful for? That we are even TTC. It has been a process.

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? My family is Italian and in Italy, you celebrate the bulk of Christmas on Christmas Eve. We go to church and then over to my mom's side for pasta, gifts, and Italian desserts. I love getting together with my extended family.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? I'm totally OCD, so DH and I decorate it by color first and then add our "every year" ornaments after. :)

  • TTA/TTC? TTA

For how long? Until early 2017

What are you frustrated with?  Related to TTC, I hate the roller coaster ride of baby fever. One week it's bad, another week I feel like I could wait 5 years. Related to life: Winter is coming. We have 2 1/2 feet of snow outside and even though we have a snow day, I hate the cold and snow.

What are you thankful for? For our health, my marriage/relationship with DH and my dogs.

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? Food. I love food. I love all the kinds of food that come with the holidays.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? We haven't decorated a tree in a while since we are never home for Christmas, but when we do, we do it by color. We do navy blue and silver usually.

  • What are you frustrated with?  Work.  But who isn't frustrated with that?

What are you thankful for?  My DH.  He's pretty freaking awesome.

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions?  My traditions from my family is completely different from how my DH and his family do things, so we are trying to come up with compromises (we've been living together for 7 years and still haven't figured this out.)  I do always put my tree up on Black Friday.  Love that.  One thing I started last year was the Christmas Eve box, just like the one mentioned above.  But I'm only doing it for DD.  And I always watch the Peanuts Christmas special.  It's my favorite.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want?  Weeeelll..... I put up a fake tree that is just red and gold.  But my husband insists on having a real tree so he gets his own tree (that I end up decorating!) and we do white lights and Hallmark ornaments on there (I've been collecting those for years).  That tree gets all the miscellaneous ornaments.  Sometimes I put up a 3rd and 4th tree as well - they usually have themes too.  Just depends on how lazy I am that year.

    For how long? August 2016

What are you frustrated with? New job - a lot of things mentioned in the interview aren't happening

What are you thankful for? DH and family

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? Decorating the Christmas tree, hot chocolate and marshmallows and watching Christmas movies together. Family dinners...everything except for clean up and taking down decorations.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? I like colors but decorations somehow get lost each year

    TTA/TTC? TTC

    For how long? October 2015

What are you frustrated with? Our TTC in October wasn't very successful, since my DH hurt his back a few days before O (not a sex-related injury!). We missed out on November since I was abroad. And now it looks like DH will be away my entire fertile week in December! So basically we haven't had the chance to try this year.

What are you thankful for? DH, family, friends, my job and stable financial situation.

GTKY: What are your favorite holiday traditions? I used to love going with my father to get the Christmas tree. We would go out in the woods a few days before Christmas find a pretty tree and cut it down. I remember the excitement looking for and finding the perfect tree, and how proud I was coming home to my mother with the tree we chose.

Bonus questions: If you decorate a tree for the holidays, do you do it by color or do you just put whatever you want wherever you want? Me and DH never had a Christmas tree on our own, since we always visit family during Christmas. But when we do, he will not get any say. I will have strict rules! Lights should be white/yellow, and the balls should be red. If the tree is pretty enough in it self, no tinsel garlands are needed. If tinsel garlands - they should be silver and pretty slim, and hang from the top straight down - not around the tree.
