As with any other SEX-predicting old wive's tale, the Chinese Gender chart has a 50% accuracy rate. You can pee on it, dangle it on some thread over your belly, and carry it any way you want, but it's 50%. It will always be 50%.
Congratulations on your baby boy, and I wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy. I myself am waiting until my anatomy scan, where hopefully I will hear nothing but good news in regards to the health of my child - seeing a penis or a vagina will be a bonus. I'll be waiting another ten years or so to learn my child's gender, as that is a decision only he or she will ever be able to make.
Mmmm Ryan Reynolds! I can't wait for the Deadpool movie to come out!
Me either... The Wolverine movie with him in it made me so angry!!!!! I'm glad he's forcing them to do it right now.
And it's going to be rated R so it'll actually be accurate! DH is a fan girl so we will be at the earliest possible showing, despite me being exactly two months from my due date. The next day at work will suck!
It was wrong with both my babies! Every person I have ever talked to about it has had the opposite of what the chart predicted! Obviously there's no factual basis behind it but still interesting.

Mines been right both times. So between me and you we make up a perfect statistic. 50/50. High five sista!
First BFP 12/2012, MMC at 9 weeks
Second BFP 6/2013, resulted in DS, born 2/23/14 :-)
Third BFP 5/2015, natural MC at 6 weeks
Fourth BFP 8/2015, hoping for sticky little brother or sister to H!
Proud SAHM to our little monkey H.
Pro Vax, extended breasftfeeder, ring sling and stroller loving mama. I don't judge you unless you don't vaccinate!
@jonesl12 the day before thanksgiving, hopefully. DH will be out of town for the a/s so I'm having the tech write it down for me, and I'll take it to a bakery to get two cupcakes filled with either pink or blue. I'm desperately hoping he will get home before I pass out that night, but if not we'll have cupcakes for thanksgiving day breakfast!
So there are two versions of this out there. This one says boy. The other said girl for me.
This one was 100% accurate for me. There's no way it could have been wrong for you??!!
This happened to me, too.
I guess it's a good thing it is at least one or the other
If the chinese gender prediction chart actually worked, China wouldn't have had that whole baby girl issue... that all being said, it was right for me.

Mine is the day before Thanksgiving too! Best of luck, and enjoy your sweet treats!
So for funsies I've blogged a list of 20 OWTs (but no peeing on things!) the week leading up to our anatomy scan with DD and now DS. For DD, it was 11:9 girl and it was 11:9 boy for DS, so technically they were overall right (55%) for each of them. However, only 5 of the 20 were right for both pregnancies. Definitely a 50/50 shot on any of them with a few getting luckier than others.

Oh I want to do this! Let me know what OWTs you liked!

The ones that were right twice were belly shape (which is hard to tell pre-20 weeks, so I kinda guessed with DD), cravings, Chinese gender chart, cold feet, and headaches.
Protein, the ring test and what Mom thinks were wrong both times.

HA- 90% of these tell me baby girl.. And I promise you, baby boy was very clear on our A/S! But it was a fun list- thanks for sharing
I'm all down with science and what the lab says. The ultrasound doc has always confirmed what the DNA said from the labs. That being said, I did the Chinese Gender thing for laughs for 3 of my babies and they were correct. I still leave it to science.
