Does anyone else have this issue? I'm not large yet (by any means) but I have a hard time breathing normal breathes especially when I am asleep. I wake up with pounding in my head from not breathing Its so annoying!!!
That happens to me quite often. But I've also been known to stop breathing while sleeping (before either pregnancy). So I'd talk to your ob and your regular PCP. They may want a sleep study done. But I do get the pounding head and shortness of breath while awake and just sitting on the couch. I'm not very big either but lordy it's terrible once you hit 30ish weeks. Lol.
I also agree it could be obstructive sleep apnea. It can also be impaired gas exchange which is basically what it sounds like you aren't exchanging oxygen and carbon dioxide like it's supposed to be. I don't know any other signs or symptoms other than shortness of breath and headache but I suggest contacting a doctor.
