Symptoms escalating at night?!

Does anyone else notice their preggo symptoms get way stronger when it's time to go to bed?! I've never heard of this being a thing, but then again this is my first! I don't really mind the escalation, I'm pretty welcoming to it all as it just means my little babe is growing away! Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

Re: Symptoms escalating at night?!

  • Mine are worse in the morning, besides just being super tired at night. But I think we are all experiencing symptoms differently.

  • Mine are worse in the morning but whoever came up with the term "morning sickness" was probably a man. It can strike any time of the day and is different for everyone. Hopefully they go away soon.

  • Mine have gotten worse at night since the beginning...I vomit a few times every morning, but then get some relief during the day until around 7:00 pm and the nausea comes back full force, my boobs hurt like crazy, etc...so yes, I definitely notice stronger symptoms at night! I guess it just depends from person to person how your hormones fluctuate.
  • Mine are all day but 3xs worse around 5-8p. Sometimes even bad around 2-3p
  • Mine also peak after supper, usually. I think the end of day fatigue makes everything feel worse.
  • Mine peak between 4-8pm.  Then I crash and fall asleep...

  • Mine peak at night also!
  • Yes, I feell like I have the opposite of "morning" sickness. I usually feel Ok in the morning and get worse throughout the day. I'll have no appetite for dinner because I'm nauseous but find if I just get myself to eat anyway I feel better afterwards.
  • Sometimes I find this to be true for me. I think my body likes to keep me on my toes...sometimes I feel awful in the morning, sometimes the afternoon, sometimes at night. I never know what to expect. That's been fun...

  • Mine are only at night usually starting around 8pm and lasting through the night making sleeping almost impossible. Luckily this is my second and my 1st is in kindergarten and I can catch up on sleep and eating during the day.

This exactly. Reverse MS morning is by best part of the day!

  • Yes, unfortunately I can feel the sickness building up throughout the day. By the time I go home after work 6pm I feel like hell. I don't want to cook dinner nor eat a thing! It drives a nuts because the only time I have to relax at home with my husband and son is when I have to lock myself in the bedroom and sleep or throw up for hours :(
  • Yes! Definitely worst in the evening. I have two bad spells mid morning then again from 3:40 on getting worse into the evening. I feel like I fight through it all day at work then suffer at night for not giving in. But at least I know it means LO is growing like you said!
  • Yes. Symptoms are bad when I wake up and before I go to bed :( no fun. It's letting up a little bit now that I'm 11 weeks. Hope it keeps letting up.

I hope you find some relief soon. If you have any bloating/gassy/ickiness, gas ex strips have been my life saver. They are a super refreshing minty flavor and offer relief right away. And the best part is that my midwife said they are 100% safe and to keep taking them as long as they give me relief. They have kept me from throwing up on many occasions and gave me enough relief to fall asleep.
  • Yes! Mine are definitely worse at night...I always without fail throw up sometime between 6 and 8 and after that it's just extreme dizziness and exhaustion yet my body refuses to fall asleep...mornings are bad too if I forget to drink laban and eat a few dates before bed....if I do that I'm golden in the mornings!
  • After dinner is the worst for me! I just lay on the couch and count down the minutes until it's late enough to take my unisom b6 combo.
  • My nausea is generally the worst at night- which is great because generally work isn't that bad. But when I'm home at night with DH watching TV I feel awful!!!!

  • Night time for me too! Apparently just because it's called morning sickness doesn't mean it happens only in the morning.

This has happened a couple of times this pregnancy - never happened with my last, and seems rather inconsistent.

I was puking my guts out he other night and H was all "oh I wonder what caused that"

    I'm pregnant.

    "Oh. Yeah."

  • The past few weeks it gets worse as I am trying to go to bed. Luckily I have a bed that adjusts up and down so I just left the head up cause laying flat makes me feel sicker. And DH is fine with it cause he sleeps on his back anyway.
  • This past week (now 11 weeks) I have sickness in the evening, but feel fine in the morning. I can even drink a small cup of coffee again. But boy is it horrible in the evening! Let's just say I am never eating Chipotle again. That's all.

  • I thought I was the only one. I'm okay until about 4ish in the afternoon. When I get in my car to drive home, I have to sit for a second before leaving. I feel really carsick when driving. :( Then around 6ish is when I have been getting sick. Eventually, I pass out by 7pm, waking up around 11pm and 2am.

Don't even get me started on the headaches. Got migraine before pregnancy approx once a month and now seem to have headaches all the time! Grrrr .....
  • Yes, mine has switched from mornings to bedtime over the last week.  5th pregnancy...never gotten sick at night.  This one is keeping me on my toes.
