I'm almost 12 weeks, and sleeping comfortably is becoming a problem for me. I think I might have even pulled a muscle in my abdominal area last night from tossing & turning. Anyone else having these issues? I'd love to hear some advice!
I love the Snoogle pillow. It's like a giant C shape. I put the top part under my head, the bottom between my legs, and the long middle part behind my back so I can sort of sleep in-between being on my side and being on my back. Got me through my last pregnancy although eventually I had to add another small pillow under my hip
I need to go get one. I keep finding that I keep accidentally rolling on my back and I just wake up feeling awful. I'm 11w3d and I was hoping the sleeping issues would be later on but I guess not so much

Drugs, lots and lots of drugs. Kidding..sort of. I'm no help sorry. I sleep with a pillow between my legs and that helps a little. I want a pregnancy pillow but there's no room in bed for it! With my first pregnancy I slept on the couch, it helped when my back was against the back of the couch and I slept great.
I got myself a snoogle because I was [already] always uncomfortable...it's helped! I still struggle to stay asleep, but for the most part I'm comfortable!
I got myself the Ultimate Mum pillow. It's a big horseshoe shape. I need to move from side to side during the night and this way I don't have to move the entire pillow, just me! It's been amazing for sleep. It also doubles as a nursing pillow when baby comes!
I bought the full body Boppy pillow from target. I sleep with the bottom part between my legs and I like that it fits all the way to my ankles, gives lots of hip and leg support. I tuck my arm under the upper pillow. I wrapped a normal pillow case on that part for extra comfort. I also put a plush pillow behind my back to keep me from rolling too much and for extra support.
I have a crappy old body pillow I've been using so far. Trying to get out of the habit of being a back sleeper. But I'm probably gonna break down and get a better one sooner or later. I've also been taking unisom with my b complex at night unisom is a sleep aid that's safe in pregnancy that can also help with nighttime nausea. Of course talk to your doctor before taking it but it's OTC.
Is sleeping on your back at this point (I'm 11 weeks + 1) bad? I still am.
Good question! I stopped sleeping on my back at 10 weeks, and now try to sleep on my left side, but it's so hard. My neck starts to hurt, and I have to sleep on my right side for a bit. Does anyone sleep exclusively on their left side during pregnancy? It's hard for me.
@amangels2 no, it only becomes an issue when your uterus is heavy enough to put a lot of pressure on blood vessels in your torso. you'll be super uncomfortable on your back before you need to stop sleeping that way.
@junebaby2016 I slept exclusively on my right side my last pregnancy because of a bad left shoulder injury right at the same time I got pregnant. It's not really a big deal. Do whatever's comfortable! I found it really hard on my one hip being on the same side every night. I would wake up with numbness and pain in that side.
Sleep on your back (or tummy if you're like me) as long as possible. You'll know when you need to start sleeping on your side because you will be more comfortable that way and back/tummy sleeping physically won't be an option. We still have about 7 months of crappy sleeping ahead of us!
I used a body pillow and gradually added 3 additional pillows as the months went by last time. But, I might be asking Santa for a snoogle this Christmas.
We have an adjustable bed, so I've had the head and feet elevated with a body pillow under my knees. It's been a huge help the past 2 nights! I'll lay on my back, bit will sometimes slide to mt right side.
