Thermostat

Just curious, what temperature are you keeping your house at for your LO?

Re: Thermostat

  • I have it at 70F but I constantly keep raising it because Im afraid the baby will get cold

  • Ours is 68 and she's in a long sleeve onesie and alternating between wearing socks and not. She's pretty content.
  • 70-72. I am always cold so this is the temp I usually have it set at anyways.
  • My midwife said that 60-68 is the optimum temperature but that still seems pretty chilly to me.
  • 67, but he has long sleeves and a think blanket. He always feels fine temp wise, I usually add socks during day. Good question!
  • I believe the recommendations for SIDS is 68-72
  • 75 when the a/c was on, 70 now that the heater is on.
  • My doctor said if you are comfortable, then baby is comfortable.
  • H has it set at 68 but it feels so cold so I put it to 70!

  • At night, the house is somewhere around 64, during the day, it's somewhere around 66 or higher. Depending on how much it warms up that day. DS is always in pants/long sleeves, and usually wrapped in a blanket or swaddled. I figure if I'm walking around the house in pants and a light sweater, or t shirt, he should be good.

There is no way I could keep the house warmer than that. Every time the heater comes on I feel like I'm suffocating.

  • We live in a second floor apartment so it's always hot up here. XP but that's not my point; we were told to put baby in one extra layer than us. So usually I'll just put a blanket over him but sometimes I'll just let him wear a sleeper or onesie.
  • We keep our house on 67/68. Our house is cozy. Baby typically wears a sleeper or onesie set and is often swaddled. Sometimes not though If we're holding him or I'm nursing. Socks won't stay on his little feet yet. He seems happy. For some reason, our bedroom is sweltering at night and I feel like I'm going to die. At night we have a ceiling fan on and be just sleeps in a onesie no pants and we swaddle him. Not for heat but for sleep reasons. I'm worried he gets too hot at night but he seems okay.

We are between 70-73. This is maybe a regional thing but we live in the coastal south and I can't imagine having my baby without a blanket in upper 60s temps! He's not a swaddle fan. His little hands have been little ice cubes with the temp at 70 inside (40s outside) the last couple nights when I've been up to nurse him.

  • We have the nursery set to 70 and we keep the little one in an onesie when not sleeping. For naps and night sleep we also put him in the Halo sleepsack. He doesn't seem cold at any point. This setup also helps with diaper changes, which we do a lot since he hates wet diapers and starts crying even after a few drops.
  • We keep the house between 70-74. Baby is usually in a onesie with pants or in a sleeper, and is swaddled with two blankets at night since our bedroom never wants to heat up properly.

  • My husband likes it at 66, this 72 business is killing him! I personally love it, I'm always cold so "keeping it warmer for baby" is a win for me :)
