TTC after 35

Hello and Intro

Hello, This is my first time joining a TTC community. Over the years I've done countless internet searches on TTC and have always found actual women's comments/info extremely helpful. I thought instead of being a perpetual lurker I should choose one board and finally start supporting others. I'm soon to be 37. Husband is 38, we've been married 2 years and TTC the whole time. There have been some periods of "trying" less or more. The "less" times have mostly been due to a second health issue of mine that popped up the week after we got married (gah!) and has required several surgeries.  Fixing that problem is now on hold while we now focus on becoming parents. First visit to an RE was in June and after some tests I had some polyps removed in September and first IUI on Monday. Our plan is to try IUI a few times, but space it out for the sake of our finances, schedules, and sanity. We're also talking about looking into adoption/foster care. I see the bump has a board on that topic so I might join that as well.  So that's me. I'll be here and reading and hoping to offer support to others. Good luck to everyone!

  • Oh @CarrieandRoy I'm so sorry you had to go through that! Are you still dealing with any back issues? Yes, I joked (because what else can you do) that we were getting most of the "sickness" of "in sickness & health" out of the way early. Well I hope so...We also dealt with my husband's bike accident on month 2 of marriage. I guess on the bright side it happened AFTER the wedding. We got to enjoy our wedding days full of hope and blissfully unaware of what was to come, right? ;)
  • @BernieRae, my back is great now, and we only had to wait a month before TTC, so thankfully it wasn't that much of a setback.  The timing of that was just crazy.

I remember getting the IUD out and telling my obgyn that I felt like I'd be going home pregnant.  That was December 4th of last year.  Little did I know that I'd still be trying the following year.
