I stepped on a piece of glass and my foot was bleeding. I cleaned it with soap and put hydrogen peroxide and a band aid on it.. Now I worry about using the HP.. Any pointers?
We aren't delicate flowers during pregnancy. As long as you aren't drinking the chemicals, almost anything you use to treat a superficial wound is safe.
Hydrogen peroxide is really pretty ineffective at preventing an infection (though it is a good antiseptic on surfaces). Most of it is just turned into water and oxygen right in the wound (yo, that's the fizzing). Unless you needed to help clear a bunch of dirt out of the wound, washing with warm water for a few minutes is effective enough. Again, in terms of pregnancy safety, it's pretty quickly turned into water and oxygen. Just don't drink it.
Peroxide is in hair colour too, and prengant ladies still work in salons and are exposed to it in much larger amounts, so i wouldn't stress on it too much.
