Yesterday I woke up with really bad stomach soreness. I took a shower, ate some oatmeal and laid back down. After about a half hour I started having stomach cramping and pains in my lower back. I've had many surgeries and procedures over the years and this has by far been the scariest pain I've ever had. Baby was very active and no spotting thankfully. I called my doc and she told me to go to the hospital because it sounds like it could be preterm labor.
Went in and after all the tests they come back with a diagnosis of gas. He said he thinks it is an early onset of sickness too but that I have gas and told me to take gas drops. Seriously?? I was in such extreme pain there that I started shaking and couldn't speak. Tears were just flowing and wouldn't stop. I'm not a wuss to pain either.
My OB told me to get rid of the gas drops and to take gas x. I've taken them every 4 hours since being released along with using a heating pad and drinking hot liquids. Feeling much better today. Still tenderness in my lower abdomin but I can actually walk today. Yesterday it was horrid to walk.
I feel like a complete idiot. It was terrifying to have such extreme pain but now I just feel like an idiot for it being gas. Last week at birthing class we watched a birth and our instructor was teaching us all these different moves to help with the pain. I left there thinking I was going to go as long as possible without an epi because I want to experience childbirth. I have always had a high tolerance for pain so maybe I could do this. Now I feel like a complete moron and that I won't be able to handle even the first contraction.

Just feeling majorly down on myself. I did throw up last night a few times and started feeling better afterward. But the stomach cramps have mostly subsided. Just tender now.
Re: Feel so dumb
I'm dumb and a whimp. I've been through this before and still thought I was going into preterm labor (I did twice before they induced me with my son).
Better to be safe than sorry. I've been to L&D twice now, once with dehydration ( ER wouldn't see me) and the other time was absolutely
NOTHING wrong. I thought the back pain and cramps were maybe PTL or UTI...nothing, just normal pregnancy pain.
Better safe than sorry.
Two years, two losses and three IUIs...
We are having TRIPLETS!

GGB born November 2015!
I had a massage the other day and ended up with some really severe sharp chest pains and all my reading led me to a blood clot that the massage broke loose. I went to the ER at 1 am and they told me it was heartburn. I almost cried from embarrassment but the pain was really really bad and the doctor said she'd rather see me today and send me home than tomorrow and it be really bad.
You are just taking care of yourself and the baby! Plus they get paid whether you have gas or are in labor lol.
Also, now you'll probably have more sympathy when your baby screams inconsolably with gas pains since babies don't know that it's temporary or normal.
Someone suggested this yoga pose to me for gas relief and it's been helpful
