Hi everyone! So I just wanted to get some opinions on my beta I received today. But quick info about myself: I'm 23 DH is 28. We've been TTC for 3.5 years. Lost our 4 month old daughter to SIDS, missed ("silent") miscarriage January 2014.
Found out we got our natural BFP this month! As of today I am 5 weeks & 5 days based on ovulation & BBT. But OB has me at 6 weeks & 4 days based on LMP. Since I was concerned of another miscarriage I informed my OB. They wanted me to take a beta test yesterday (@ 5 weeks 4 days) & if my numbers were over 2,000 I could schedule a sooner ultrasound rather then wait until 10 weeks. Well my results came back as 29,000! Is that a high Beta for my gestation? Possibly twins?
Picture is of my very first BFP at 16DPO.
Re: 5 Weeks & 4 Days High Beta??
It's against TOU to post your HPT, just so you know.
Did your doctor mention any concerns about your beta? I didn't have numbers that high at that stage but I don't really think that tells you anything at all.
I had the opposite situation, my levels were low ish according to the doctor based off my LMP but I must have just ovulated later than usual because everything has progressed well since then
Unfortunately, betas don't really indicate anything other than pregnancy. I had lower numbers and ended up with twins and I've known people who had super high numbers with singletons.
Try not to pay attention to the number itself but if they do another beta, how much difference there is between the two.
Good luck at your ultrasound.
Have you checked out the "pregnant after if" board? There will be more women who understand your struggle more.
3 weeks LMP: 5 – 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 – 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 – 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 – 56,500 mIU/ml
7 – 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 – 229,000 mIU/ml
9 – 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 – 288,000 mIU/ml
13 – 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 – 254,000 mIU/ml
17 – 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 – 165,400 mIU/ml
25 – 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 – 117,000 mIU/ml
You could have a single pregnancy and have those numbers at five weeks four days. Only an ultrasound will tell if you have multiples. Congratulations!
