Has anyone ever been told they were further along but it wasn't physically possible?

I had an ultrasound monday and I saw my ob on Thursday and she said that she had bad news and that I was 6 weeks and 6 days on monday and there was no heartbeat. I know the day I conceived and its not physically possible for me to be that far along when u was only 5 weeks and 2 days on monday. I also have been bleeding on and off but no cramps and or anything to signal that it's over. Anybody else?

  • No haven't had that. I would call and ask for another ultrasound next week. Or get another opinion from another dr.

I'm sorry but it doesn't sound promising and I'd prepare for the worst.
If you are convinced something is off if get a second opinion but bleeding in my experience has never been a good sign.
    Again I'm terribly sorry.
ETA these dates are all determined by measurement and lmp.
Were you given an ultrasound when they estimated 5 weeks 2 days?
  • Are you calculating your due date using the first day of your last period? That's how doctors generally calculate it.

I ovulated on October 26th but my latest period started on September 29th-ish, that's how I'm at 6 weeks, 3 days.

In any sense, a second opinion doesn't hurt if you're not sure.
  • How do you know when you conceived/ovulated?

    Me: 29 & Husband: 36
    Married: October 2014
    NTNP: April 2015 - June 2015
    M/C: June 2015
    TTC #1 since September 2015
    BFP: 11/9/15 - EDD: 7/24/16
  • When I had my loss I had no bleeding, no cramping, nothing at all. The only thing that happened was that my symptoms (which were incredibly mild anyways) dissapeared.

If you want piece of mind seek a second opinion but generally bleeding is never good. How much blood are we taking about? Light spotting or enough to fill a tampon/pad?
  • I've maybe filled a pad. And it comes and goes. I know my cycle really well and I conceived on or around the 16th of October and I also know when I had sex last month and my period was over a week long.
  • I've also already had 2 miscarriages before so I know what to expect
