Winter coats

I managed to get through my last pregnancy without buying a heavy coat, but that won't be an option this time around. My coats are already starting to get snug, and winter here is super long and super cold, so I don't think Old Navy or H&M will cut it. Neither LL Bean nor Land's End appear to carry maternity sizes. Anyone have a favorite source for good quality warm maternity coats?

  • I feel your pain ladies. We are in Manitoba. Winters last 6 months here some years. I likely will have to buy a coat this time.
  • Following. I have yet to find a good maternity coat! I asked for one from Stitch Fix in my next box, but I'm not sure they carry maternity outerwear.
  • Connecticut here and I'm with you MN ladies, it gets so cold and stays that way! Check out the line "A Pea in the Pod", it's carried at my Macy's! I have a pea coat on layaway, but they're like 90 bucks in store ish.

I'm in the Chicago burbs, hoping my coat will last this winter. It's roomy. But if not, I'm hoping Burlington coat factory carries maternity coats. I bought my current dkny puffy coat there for cheap.
  • This website is my go to for... EVERYTHING baby related. She just reviewed a bunch of winter coats

  • I picked up a winter coat from Burlington Coat Factory.  Not sure if that's just an Ohio store or what not but I got a great Calvin Klein down coat for $70.  Best part is that it has room to grow a good bit so I should be covered through the winter months here in Ohio.

  • My maternity coat is from Motherhood Maternity. It's a nice black pea coat and it's plenty warm for NE Ohio.

  • Following. I'm hoping my coats will fit for awhile bc I have pretty new ones. I'm hoping with a June due date at least we won't be at our biggest during winter! Or maybe by the time I get big enough and have to shop, hopefully winter clothes will be on sale.
  • Maternity coat makes a great christmas gift suggestion! Our normal coats should fit until then. I will check out the above suggestions to pick which one to ask for
  • My peacoats are already snug from bloat so I don't foresee it getting any better and I'm in the Poconos area so I'll definitely need to make that investment doing than later. I'm gonna try Motherhood Maternity since we have an outlet nearby. I wish we had a Burlington Coat Factory.. when I lived in Connecticut that was my go to!

Yeah, I have a pretty, dark purple pea coat from Motherhood Maternity that I love.
  • I don't bother with the maternity label. I just buy bigger sizes of stuff. So I'll get a medium or large coat depending on what I need when the time comes. Probably from burlington.

  • I just got a coat at Macy's for $100. It has a panel you can take out to wear pre pregnancy, during pregnancy, and post pregnancy with the baby in it. https://www.motherhood.com/mobile/Product.asp?Product_Id=924350070&MasterCategory_Id=MC8

  • My first son was born in July. I didn't have to buy a coat with him and hopefully I won't have to this time either. It really depends if he likes the snow this year or not and if I'll have to get down and snowy with him.
  • @cmac827 that coat is super cute! I love how the baby can fit inside too.
