3u3 or something similar?

Hey ladies! I'm Amy and we just found out about our 3rd surprise pregnancy. I was on BC pill for 5 years when I got pregnant with my first, 4 months after he was born I got pregnant with my 2nd on the pill, and in July I had an IUD placed. My OB is saying it fell out because they can't find it on u/s and they saw a small sac. Based on my LMP I'm about 4w3d. So, I have two boys 18m & 6m.

Anyone else have young children close together? I don't know how the transition will be this time. Now we're wondering do we need a triple stroller, van, bigger house, etc. I go back in 2 weeks to see the heartbeat and determine if it's one or two.

Re: 3u3 or something similar?

  • Hi and welcome! I searched using the 'Search Boards' function and found a very useful discussion about this:

Also, we do a weekly check-in for STM+.

  • Thank you! I only searched 3u3, I'm dumb for not searching something more common like 2u2. I appreciate it.

  • While I won't have 3u3, I have a 2 and 5 year old already.  My 5 year old is autistic and developmentally delayed and developmentally is similar to my 2 year old (but needs more help), so it will be very similar to having 3u3.  I don't plan to buy a different stroller, but I have a double already and I plan to just add a glider board to it.
We already have a minivan, but if you choose the right car seats, you can have 3 seats across.  You can go to stores like BBB or BRU and ask to try seats in your car I think.

I think adding our second was way more difficult, than adding the third will be, mostly because the DS will be able to help some like grabbing things for me, or holding his sister's hand so she won't wander off. We are working on potty training them both now too, so hopefully I will only have 1 in diapers when new baby comes.
  • Thank you! I don't think we will get another stroller. I'll probably just wear LO most of the time. We have a CRV and while we could probably fit another car seat, we would need to buy 3 new carseats because the two we have now are cumbersome.

I didn't even think about having 3 in diapers. DS1 will only be just over 2, so he most likely will not be potty trained yet. Both of my son's were colicky and have a MSPI, so I'm praying our third will not have that problem.
