As the subject says, I am a FTM with twins (tomorrow I'll be 7w). I was receiving fertility treatment so I've been fortunate to have ultrasounds every week, and last week I got to see 2 heartbeats. It's all very surreal- to go from fearing I may never get pregnant to now being pregnant with twins.
Is anyone else pregnant with multiples (or have been before)? I would love advice on what to expect in terms of symptoms (will it really be double in terms of severity), how quickly you showed, whether you delivered early, etc. Truly any words of advice or encouragment would be appreciated!
I would love to meet other moms or mommies-to-be of multiples since I'm sure my fears and concerns are only just beginning
Re: FTM with multiples- no clue what to expect?!
@jaceyannie how far along are you? How are you feeling?
I am 7 weeks today. The nausea has hit with vengeance!! I had a really easy pregnancy with my first, so far the symptoms have been a lot worse! We went in last week and saw three heartbeats! But one was growing a lot slower, so the doctor didn't think it would make it. We go back today to see if we are having two or three babies. Even as I write that, I can't believe it!! Like you said, it's just so surreal. I'm so scared about so many things - the pregnancy, the delivery, the cost of daycare...!
How are you feeling?
Very excited to be on this journey with all of you! We should do weekly check ins on multiples!
Also, I am so stressed with this pregnancy because I am so worried I am going to lose one. Silly I know, what will happen will happen but I can't help worrying every time I feel less nauseous or less tired. I just hope they are both healthy.
I'd love to do a weekly check in on multiplies!! That's such a great idea!!
You can have Di di, mono di, or mono mono.
One thing I was told, which is in Dr. Luke's book, is eat lots of protein. Those babies will wipe you out, and get ready to be HUNGRY in about 2 months! Protein also decreases your chances of contracting. (I have no idea why, but my doc agreed with this.). Weight gain is very important with multiples, so don't worry about the scale. I dropped 35 lbs in a month nursing twins.
I have 2 other children but this would be first time with twins.
