Not showing?

Just curious I'm 12 weeks an 5 days an still no bump, I don't look preggers yet. Is this happening to anyone else?! Just curious

Re: Not showing?

  • Most people don't really show with their first babies until 16-20 weeks or more.

  • Cool beans! I just wasn't totally sure lol thanks
  • I'm on baby #3 and still not showing :) Baby will grow and you'll pop before you know it!
  • Nothing here, either. I usually don't show until around 25 weeks, and even then, it's very slow growth.
  • Me neither-I'm 12 weeks, 4 days. I also didn't gain any weight yet, which my doctor says is normal. Like BuzzBee614 mentioned, it should start showing in week 16. I can't wait!
  • 12 weeks is early. Some women do start showing then, but many don't, especially FTMs. I don't think there's an accurate gauge to tell when you will start showing so don't feel bad about about it either way. In my experience, after most women announce (at around 12 - 14 weeks) they are pregnant, I can usually see something within a few weeks. While I definitely know of people who have not really shown anything until later than that, I do think most people start developing a rounder belly around 15/16 weeks which starts to progressively grow. It might not be something a stranger would pick up on, but that's why progression photos online are great as you can see what the person looked like pre-pregnancy. If you have Instagram, check out posts under the hashtag #13weekspregnant and so on to see the variation in the weeks to come. The one thing I've noticed is that there is no real reason why one woman shows earlier than another (unless they have had children previously). Good luck and relax, everything is ok!
  • 15 1/2 weeks with my first and still just look like I ate a big meal at the end of the day. A little sad since I would love to see something at this point! My doctor said I could very well be a "20 week popper" so until then I'll just keep enjoying my regular wardrobe :).
  • My last pregnancy (which was my first), I didn't really start to show until just after 20 weeks. I just looked like I was gaining a little weight. It was winter and honestly I was trying to postpone telling work until about 18-20 weeks so it worked out perfectly.

This time (second pregnancy), I'm almost 12 weeks and I already have a pretty consistent blump and have already started wearing maternity bottoms and a belly band.
  • I had to move into maternity clothes around eight weeks, but I just look fat, not bumpy. Although my weight has stayed the same, my waist has definitely expanded several inches.
  • Preggers with baby 2, 12 weeks on Friday and still not showing.

I'm 12w4d not showing my lower abdomin is starting to firm up a bit, but I've lost 14 pounds so far. I'm hoping not to show until after the holidays. I'm not trying to lose weight and my dr was not concerned as I was about 20 pounds overweight for my height anyways. I am excited to start getting cute maternity clothes when I do start showing! I'm a FTM so I've been told I won't start showing until after I get a bit into the second trimester :)
  • I'm 12w3d and nothing yet and I don't imagine I will start to show for another while (I'm a FTM too). My nieces are looking all the time for a "bump"...and I'm just as excited to see one too.

The boobs though...oh man, those could be a giveaway. At the office, I had to stop wearing button up blouses and certain shirts.
  • I'm 13.5 weeks and no bump, but am already over weight despite recently losing about 55 lbs. so I just still look fat I guess. My new concern is the fear of looking like a whale when pregnant. Just learned about a B shape belly instead of the cute D shape bump. The B shape is common in overweight women and I'm so nervous that I'm just going to look obese instead of pregnant when I do start showing!
  • I just searched B shape bellies because I'm overweight. I didn't realize it could do that. Now I'm scared of a B shape belly and just looking really obese. :(

  • I'm a really petite person. I'm 11weeks (12 on Friday) and look like I've had a giant Thanksgiving meal plus pie. My stomach is really hard too which I only noticed a couple days ago. It'll be nice when it rounds out and looks more like baby then Thanksgiving. :)
  • Even though most people aren't showing yet, soon you will be ginormous and wishing you had a smaller belly lol

...& then you have the baby and that huge belly turns to a jelly thing that's reallllly hard to get off.
  • I'll be 14wk Thursday and still just look bloated

  • Oooh thanks for warning me about the B belly because I used to be obese, and I believe I will likely have a B-shaped belly because of how my stomach is shaped.

  • @kami09 whyyyyy oh whyyyy did you have to remind me of the jelly thing. I'm still trying to get over the horror of it from my first pregnancy through selective amnesia. It all just came rushing back...

Lol. Sorrrry! I thought it was kind of cool at first...and then it wouldn't go all the way away. =(
  • 14 weeks and dying for my bump! But I just look bloated
  • Maybe I'm super rare but I'm a FTM and I'm currently 14 weeks 3 days. This picture is from 13 weeks 5 days. I'm already in maternity clothes bc nothing would fit me and coworkers were making comments about my clothes looking a little tight and uncomfortable.

Hop over to the HDBD thread!
  • @jennaoubre you look adorable!!!
  • I too think I will have a more b shaped belly. I am also thinking I may not look very pregnant for a long time. I recently lost a lot of weight and I am hoping to only gain ten pounds.
