help!

So I had my first ultrasound today and I am a FTM and I'm about 6 weeks along, they only saw the yolk sac but no baby

have other moms ever experienced this?? I'm freaking out..

I saw a form about this the other day. I can remember where it was though! The baby is still really small and on that thread everything worked out fine. I'm just over 6 weeks and had an ultrasound today and there really isn't much baby to see.. We mostly just saw the sac and then a little flutter of a heartbeat. I wouldn't worry too much but if you are call your doctor!

My ob won't do ultrasounds before 8 weeks because of this. I think it is common.

I'm in the same situation. Had my first u/s on Monday and there was only a yolk sac no fetal pole or heartbeat. Doctor said he expected to see something more. He mentioned the possibility of a blighted ovum. Is it possible that you are not as far along as you thought? I transferred via IVF so I know that I should be 6w1d so there is not a lot of hope for me. It is possible that it is just too early for you. We are repeating the u/s on Friday to see if there is any growth. Do you have another u/s scheduled?

I agree with PPs all you can do is wait for the next to see if there is growth. As impossible as it is, try to stay busy and distracted until then and hope for the best. Fingers crossed for you

Were you temping to confirm when you ovulated? It's possible that you might just be a little bit earlier than you think. And some mature faster than others. Thoughts and prayers for good results for your follow-up and for @susycat77. I was in during one of my pregnancies in the beginning of the six week and didn't see a fetal pole. There was heartbeat by 7w1d

Had to go to the ER today because I was having a lot of pain and bleeding and turns out there is a heartbeat and baby is healthy so far!

That's so great! I was going to also agree with @holly142 ...my doctor won't see you till 8 weeks for that reason. Good luck

@stephweinstein No update for me yet. I go in on Friday for another ultrasound. The minutes are ticking by. My blog was a wonderful outlet for me during this whole process. I need to update it but I am waiting until Friday because I feel like I've taken everyone on this crazy roller coaster ride. Thank you for checking in on my progress!!
