What pregnancy stereotypes are you fulfilling?

I bought dill pickle potato chips today. People, they are fiiiiiiiiiine.

What 'typical' pregnant things are you all doing? :)

Re: What pregnancy stereotypes are you fulfilling?

  • omg dill pickle chips are my everything.

I just cry like, constantly. The other day I was driving down the freeway and my mind wandered to what outfit I could wear for our Christmas card/pregnancy announcement and suddenly I was bawling like a baby in traffic.

I could also be a Haagen Dazs spokesperson at the moment.

  • I also burst into tears writing that comment, lol.
  • I cry for no reason, I'm completely impossible, I'm either starving or nauseous and at the moment I ONLY want pink strawberry cake with white icing

@mepxw7 last week, I drove around town looking for the dill pickle Pringles. I needed them so bad. No regrets.
  • Pickles. Or olives. Anything sour.

Irrational hormones. Usually towards my kids :(

I could fall asleep anywhere, anytime. Seriously, after my shower, I need to rest.

Thinking about food, seeing food, smelling food, just FOOD makes me nauseous.
  • Is there a pregnancy stereotype where you fall asleep at the movie theater?

Specter, Steve Jobs, Bridge of Spies to name a few... :\">

  • Pickles and ice cream. Not together though. I take an evening nap every single day. I don't last 5 minutes on the couch after putting DD to bed. On the weekends I even take an afternoon nap. Also peeing constantly, especially while we're out and about. Which totally sucks because the smell of public bathrooms make me nauseous big time.
  • Crying.
    Peeing.
    Puking.
    Napping.

I'm an all around joy right now.
  • I have to eat all the carbs so I don't puke. Halp.

  • I often sit during clean up, to not move "heavy" things and because I feel nauseous. Sometimes I do feel nauseous, sometimes I want to sit and relax.

  • SO GRUMPY. And the crying. We watched Inside Out last night and I was majorly choking back the tears at the end because I was super embarrassed to be crying over a kid's movie in front of my in-laws.

  • Always tired and nauseous! Yesterday I told my husband that I felt like I would feel better if I could throw up and he proceeded to try and make me throw up.  So loving lol! It didn't work.

  • I've become very protective of my snacks, especially my hot and spicy cheezits. DH ate most of the box yesterday when I wasn't home and he was too lazy to make or get dinner and I had an irrational wave of hate.

  • dill pickles have been a part of my life since I can remember. so I can't count my eating them as a pregnancy-related thing. I love them more than I love some people.

sleeping and being a big jerk are my contributions to the pregnancy stereotype.

  • I'm the exact opposite of a number of you! I usually love pickles, they were my go-to snack for years. About 2 weeks ago just looking at the half eaten jar in the fridge makes me want to vomit!

@BPaisley I cried at the end of inside out too, but at least it was only me and my husband watching it. He saw the tears rolling down my cheeks and started laughing though, so I don't know if that's any better.

  • Well I'm just a big pregnant asshole. I threw a minor hissy fit at work because my office mate stuck me in the bunk seat. Not THAT big of a deal a little irritating, but I has steam coming out of my ears. And I just ate an orange and could have had an orgasam it was so good.
  • I need a sign on my office door that says "Do not piss off the pregnant lady" (though no one here yet knows) I have a a VERY short temper today.

Oh, and I absolutely devoured a BLT yesterday. It was borderline obscene. PG-13 at least!

Sourdough. ALL THE SOURDOUGH BREAD. I have Celiac, so until recently I haven't been a big bread person because most gluten free types taste like cardboard. Well there's a company in San Francisco that's making (exclusively) gluten free sourdough bread and it's amazing.

I, too, have been a pickle person my entire life and just the sight of the pickle jar in my fridge made me want to vomit. I did a huge fridge clean out the other day, of course keeping only what seems edible to my pregnant self-- the look on my husband's face was priceless when he opened the fridge.

  • Pickles... Last week I ate a whole jar in less than 24 hours... It's the only food that I desired at the time.
  • I was an emotional wreck yesterday. Just crying at the drop of a dime. I was cold in bed and asked DH if I could cut the ceiling fan off. He said sure so I stood up in bed reaching to pull the fan chain and DH started laughing because I didn't just flip the wall switch. I laughed too, for about 3 seconds, and then started crying. WTF

Crazy dreams! I dreamt that I was camping with friends and we went horse back riding, but there wasn't enough horses so I got a giraffe instead.

Haha, oh that's too funny! I definitely think DH would have made fun of me, so I was fighting it so hard lol

I've been having awful nightmares. When I woke up I was so terrified that I couldn't move. SO luckily was there. When do the nightmares come to an end?
  • Be careful... Because that "joke" you are telling me could go fine or else I might just cry or flip the lid at you for being an ass. Irrational behavior stereotype alert!

  • So tired! Fell asleep sitting on a 5 gallon bucket the other day! Also weird food! gardetos but only the rye bread so I have a lot of pretzels and cracker things left. (Yes I know you can buy the rye bread separate but that doesn't cut it! Need the whole bag they taste different )
Dreams here too all though they aren't bad dreams they are more of the sexy type. I sure hope I don't talk in my sleep! Lol don't want DH getting the wrong idea because I definitely don't want to be touched right now.
  • Oh and now I have to add being on an emotional pendulum.  I go from being angry and wanting to do bodily harm to people who insist on staring at me to wanting to break down and cry because they keep staring... I know it's the pregnancy hormones because last time I was in China, I embraced the stares and even took pictures with people.  This time...I simply cannot cope.
  • I'm so grumpy! I took the boy to daycare early yesterday.. Just so I could drive out of my way to go to Burger King and get some hashbrowns and zesty sauce. Of course I didn't notice that I didn't get my zesty sauce until I was at work. So I called my friend to tell her that there is absolutely no dependable BK in the state of WI. All she says is Deja vu!

With my first pregnancy I wanted a crispy chicken salad with Caesar dressing. Repeated it 3 times! I got grilled.. Ew! And citrus ceasar vingarette dressing. Why would anyone want that?

Moral of the story: since I need my carbs with this baby or I'm a mess.. I pinterested a copy cat recipe of the zesty sauce. And I will go extra out if my way to go to Hardee's for their hashbrowns!
  • Oh and when I'm not being hormonal about my food orders.. I'm crying over stupid parts in movies. I was watching that Step Up 2 -the streets movie. When she takes the fall and they come to her door and get her. Yup I cried and husbands about died of laughter. He will still look at me and mock me: "they are such good friends. Like a month ago they didn't know each other and oh.. They are just such good people for her to have."

    Yup. I'm redic!
  • I cried watching Inside Out too.

Also, the one male coworker who knows my situation said that my nausea was mental. Ahem- excuse me?!?! Do NOT tell a pregnant woman that her pregnancy symptoms are in her head!!!!!
  • @IKAmouse808 omg I would've thrown up on his shoes & told him that didn't happen, it was all in his head!!

Y'all the nightmares... they are the worst!  I have never had such crazy and scary dreams in my life.  We live on a farm and last night I dreamed that all of our cows (150+) got out and started stampeding our house.  To make it worse I dreamed that I was stuck to the bed and couldn't get away.  I woke DH up and made him go check all the fences around our house at 2 am.  He was not a happy camper... Oops.  Sorry :)
