Placental abruption

Hi.. I'm 23wks and just recently found out I have a partial placenta abruption. I've only had some mild cramping, no bleeding thank god!! But I'm still very scared of the worst case scenario... And also the stories I've read online as well is anyone else experiencing this or has in the past?

Hi there. I had my partial abruption at 24 weeks, only I had quite a heavy bleed. I ended up spending a month in the hospital then another month on bed rest at home. Even with the complications I ended up being induced at 39 weeks as a precaution and gave birth to a healthy boy. I know from experience that there is very little information out there on the condition and what you do find can be scary. Please let me know if you have any specific questions for me and I'll try to help!

Hi. I was not aware i had an impending placental abruption. I was high risk as i am 45 and was being carefully monitored but not carefully enough apparently. I was admitted to the hospital for what appeared to be the beginnings of preeclampsia. When after two days things looked okay at least to my specialist and my ob they decided i was okay to go home. I argued with the drs and told them something wasnt feeling right as my bp would start to rise as i was lying in the hospital bed and they assured me as since it would go back down then i was supposedly fine and they had no medical reason to keep me. I tell u this as since your drs already know u have a partial abruption u have to please be sure they keep a sharp eye on you. Do they have you on bedrest at least or are they considering putting you in the hospital? I ask as i was getting ready to be discharged at the hospital i left the restroom and started hemorrhaging all over the floor. Blood was gushing out of me. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for a nurse and needless to say the room was filled with about ten nurses in about 30 seconds. I ended up
Rushed back to the or and they were able to put me to sleep and get baby out in eight minutes to save us both. I tell u all this not to scare you but want u to be aware of how bad it can get if u are not careful. The doctors would not listen when i told them something was wrong and they have told me if i had left as i was getting ready to then both me and baby would be dead. Please take whatever care u are advised to take and ask many questions as doctors do not always know everything so you have to act on yours and your babys behalf. My son was born right at 32 weeks and will survive but it would not have been the case had i actually left already like they wanted. Just take care of yourself and baby!!
