  • @Brandi81012- thanks for starting this thread! :)

    Week: 16/avocado

Symptoms: Sore throat/cold symptoms, not sure if related to pregnancy or not

Rants/Raves/Stories: I'm starting to feel like we have a lot to do--nursery prep, buying stuff, registering, it's starting to go fast!

Upcoming Appointments: 16 week appointment on Wednesday!

Questions? What should we buy first? Seriously, so many things to buy and researching takes so much time!

GTKY: Favorite holiday movie? Love Elf and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
  • Week; 16/avocado
Symptoms: nausea is finally diminishing, but now I have a sore throat and fever. Also still horribly constipated, but the increased sex drive has definitely kicked in.
Rants/raves/stories: dd3 wants to listen for the baby every single day, and is less than thrilled that she can't hear it yet. Sorry kid, but I have a fetoscope, not a doppler, and I've only maybe heard it once. The baby may be bigger now, but it still has a teeny tiny heart in there.
Upcoming appointments: Oh crap, is that tomorrow or Wednesday? I have to go check. Ugh. We'll schedule my a/s, and unless there's a problem, I probably won't go back after that until the end of pregnancy testing-gbs and whatnot.
    Questions: none
GTKY: fave holiday movie? I totally can't answer this one. I adore holiday movies. The season is not complete if I don't watch the classics: It's A Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown, Miracle on 34th Street (old and new versions, thanks), the Grinch. I also must watch Elf, and the Muppets Christmas Carol. I reread the original every year as well. And don't forget the claymation movies! Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, and Rudolph, and Frosty...

@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt Buy a carseat first. It's the only thing you absolutely have to have purchased before the baby comes, assuming you give birth in a hospital like most people. They won't let you leave without one, but you can totally steal diapers and even a going home outfit and blankets from them, assuming someone doesn't bring you a cute outfit and a blanket while you're there. Grandparents, especially, like to do that.
  • Thanks @mojomama6 for the tips!  We'll definitely have the big stuff before the baby comes but it just seems so overwhelming right now.  Thankfully, we have lots of friends who are already parents and can give us advice as needed.  We've just been procrastinating making big decisions!
  • Week: 18, sweet potato

Symptoms: sinus congestion (my ears clog when I ride the elevator every morning at work, super annoying!) Dry lips, general soreness but that might be from traveling last weekend.

Rants/Raves: I just started to show a couple of weeks ago, and find it crazy how strangers feel it's totally acceptable to come up and rub the little bump. I was at a wedding last weekend and got unexpectedly groped in the bathroom by two strangers. It doesn't bother me, exactly, it's just weird!
I am also getting tired of people asking me how I'm feeling. I'm pregnant, not sick! I sat down at one point during the reception because my feet hurt, and at least 5 people asked me if I was okay and if I needed water. Trust me, I'm hydrated enough since that's all I can drink at weddings!

Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan next weds!

GTKY: I love Elf, I gotta also throw in there the original Home Alone, classic!
  • Week: 19 weeks/mango!

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks when I lay down.

Rants/Raves/Stories: We found out we are having a baby girl on Friday! Still trying to get used to the idea even though I was convinced she was going to be a girl. I don't know. I'm excited, it'll just take some getting used to I guess.

    Upcoming Appointments: A/S next Friday!

GTKY: Christmas Vacation, Christmas with the Kranks, Grinch.
