Best prenatal vitamins

Hi, so I have been taking Vitafusion gummy prenatals, and I like them, but I noticed they have no Iron in them. I thought that was weird. I went to Target yesterday to see if there where other gummies that had Iron in them, but didnt see any. so I picked up a nature-made multi prenatal that has iron, zinc, etc.. but noticed they don't have omega 3 DH, Why can't I find a prenatal vitamin that is all inclusive. Can anyone recommend a brand and where to find it?

The gummies don't have iron, grrr, as they taste so yummy. You can add in an iron, the slow releasing one is good. There's a large thread about prenatals, search in the search bar. I use a prescription as it's the only one that didn't make me barf, hope this helps!

I love Belly Bar, they are chewable and taste like the red Flintstones. But ive only been ablr to find them at walgreens. But because of a personal issue with processing Folic acid i also have to take an additional 1600 of folic acid with it, but for my first pregnancy all i took was Belly Bar.

I take myKind Garden of Life Organic prenatals. They're more expensive than the gummies, and they're the big pills you take 3x a day. I love them!! They don't upset my stomach, give me yucky burps, or anything. They have iron, zinc, etc.

I personally can't handle gummy vitamins. :x

You can either take an iron supplement or switch to a new vitamin. There is a chewable iron supplement that has vitamin c with it to make it easier to digest. I was going to go this route (I loooove the vita fusion) but I was able to get a prenatal through my OB for free.

My OB gave me samples of smaller pills because I told her I had an issue with swallowing huge pills. The vita pearl was the only one that didn't make me feel sick or throw up. Best part is, it's 100% covered by my insurance. I recommend getting a sample of this from your OB to see how you like it. I have such a sensitive stomach so I was worried about taking iron. I'm so glad I found one I can take that is covered. There are also some chewables that you can get a prescription for, unfortunately the one I tried did not agree with me.

Thanks everyone. I also thought I could alternate between my vitafusion that has the DHA with the nature made that has the Iron. I am thinking if alternate one day vitafusion, one day nature made, I will get my needed viatamins

anyone do that? alternate between brands?

I'm taking the Honest Company Prenatals (3 pills) and their DHA. I only started DHA at week 8.

I take Seeking Health prenatal vitamins. They are formulated with naturally sourced vitamins, especially for those of us with MTHFR. It's 8 pills a day though. I take a chelated iron and 2 Nordic naturals DHA a day. I also take a probiotic at night. It's a lot of pills....... But I want my baby to be healthy especially since I'm high risk.

I took the vita fusion gummies with my first pregnancy and started taking them again with this one due to MS. However, I am seeing a different OB who said the vita fusion gummies do not contain enough folic acid and you need to a supplement either with food high in folate or a extra vitamins. According to my OB, most OTC prenatals do not contain enough folic. My OB prescribed me Mini Prenate which is very easy to digest, especially taken at night.

These are what I am taking! The after taste makes me want to throw up. I simply cannot stomach them anymore. I am going to start trying them at night, but if they still make me sick I will see what my doc says.

These are the ones I take as well! As long as I take them with food they don't bother my stomach. I took them throughout my last pregnancy and the postnatal ones while I was nursing DS. I do find that if I take them at night they keep me up sometimes!

My OB said to eat a serving (or 2?) of fish each week but if I take a vitamin with DHA then I don't need to worry about it.

Chelthorn- They don't bother me. Not yet anyway. I am not a fan of how big they are but I have gotten past that.

@Jgar2u2 They haven't always bothered me. I have taken these since I had my first and just in the last week or so they started making me sick. I think it is just part of the nausea. Certain smells and taste are just horrible to me now. The size doesn't bother me any because I have always taken iron and it's the same size.
