Anyone having Sciatic nerve issues?

Anyone else dealing with sciatic nerve issues? Every time I step down on my right side I have a shooting pain from my lower back all the way down to my knee. This is one of the most painful things I've ever experienced! I'm 35 weeks and the doctor says there's not much that can be done except to tough it out as it should subside when the baby arrives.

I've tried prenatal massage, stretching, heat/cold, wearing a support belt...nothing helps.

Anyone else have ideas? Feeling desperate for just a little relief!

    We've had several discussions on this topic. Maybe try the search function, you'll find tons of advice. The only thing that helps mine is the chiropractor and warm baths.

    Yup to ^ and sciatic. (And other back issues) I found in my last pregnancy, a chiro and stretching was the best thing for it.

    Yes!!! Something terrible. I could cry some days it gets so bad.. Thinking of trying the Chiro, too!

    @breascott I'm pretty sure I was having this issue a few weeks ago - pain from my left buttock all the way down my left leg.  I couldn't walk far without being in pain, it was awful.  I had this issue for about a week, maybe two.  It slowly started to get better and eventually just went away - I assume the baby changed positions.  Hopefully this will be the case for you.

    All the time. Fortunately for me, a heating pad helps. I've tried stretching and laying on the opposite side but sometimes you just can't avoid it.
