Dark brown Cervical mucus--8 wks

Hi,
I am 8 weeks pregnant and I've been having brown spotting when I wipe (it's not in my underwear) for the past 5 days. It started out as just light brown and not much to it, but today it has been dark brown mucus each time I use the bathroom (sorry, tmi). There is a slight amount of red too, but mostly dark brown. I have talked to the doctor and nurses several times, and they keep saying to just wait and monitor it. My hcg level is really good and I am getting an ultrasound on Tues to make sure everything is OK. It's my first pregnancy, so I'm just very concerned and afraid of a possible miscarriage. Is there anyone else who is experiencing or has experienced this before? Is mucus discharge normal?

I had the same concerns when I experienced it at 6 weeks, then at 8 weeks, 10 weeks and now at 12 weeks. I was assured by my doc that it is normal as long as it's not heavy and accompanied by pain. Also, I was able to have a 10 wk US as a precaution and saw the baby was just fine! I wouldn't worry unless you truly feel like somethings may be wrong. Good luck!

I am visiting from third tri to offer hope! I had some full on bleeding at 7 weeks, and brown mucus at 5 weeks, 12 weeks, and then "normal" whitish mucus here and there since then. I am 29 weeks tomorrow and everything is totally fine! If it gets better rather than worse, it is a GOOD sign! Good luck momma!

I am having the EXACT same thing and I am also 8 weeks along. Doctor and nurses told me the same thing. It's been going on for a week and changes darkness and consistency throughout the day. I have an u/s on Wednesday so fingers crossed and sticky thoughts for our little beans.

I had 9 days of brown bleeding/ discharge, sometimes quite heavy, around about the 6-8 week mark (i cant quite remember) and i am currently 21w5d with a healthy baby! Unfortunately the only thing that will really tell is time, but hopefully our stories can be a comfort to you. Good luck!
