Constipation?

Sorry if this is TMI, but anyone else dealing with this? Any recommendations? When I had my first child I also remember going through this and it SUCKS! I just want to do my doody! Ha! I also don't want to strain, as I know that can't possibly be good for me or baby. Help!

I have been having issues with this ever since we started TTC and I started taking prenatals. I also have IBS on top of it. It's really not fun! I have been eating a fiber one bar every day and a fruit smoothie for extra fiber. It seems to be helping me go a little more frequently.

I had horrible constipation my first pregnancy. It is safe to take colace while pregnant (I took the generic it's WAY less) I took 3 a day... plus I put benefiber (again generic) in my morning coffee. The good news.... once I had DS I have never been more "regular". I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence or if having a baby really helped me out in that area.

Constipation is a very normal symptom that unfortunately usually stays with you through the whole pregnancy. I got pretty lucky the first time around but we'll see with this one. I agree with PP that you can take Colace; that should help you. Definitely be careful because you don't want to get hemerroids. They are also a very common pregnancy symptom that you may encounter if you're dealing with constipation. Hope you feel better!

I just searched up constipation bc I've been dealing with it like crazy... I'm so backed up and I swear it's why I'm so bloated. One thing that seems to help me is putting my feet up on a step stool when I'm sitting on the toilet. I know this sounds weird but our bodies work better in this position... It's actually how we are supposed to be pooping! Try it next time and see if it helps!
