Tearing and hemmoroids post baby

So I had my baby on Saturday 10/24 and went all natural. I have 2nd degree tearing and bad hemmoroids. Did anyone have any remedies to help? I a using prep H, tucks, and sitz baths. Today feels the worse out of any days so far! I can't seem to find any comfort....

Re: Tearing and hemmoroids post baby

  • I had same situarion. I called my doctor and she prescribed a medicated cream that worked wonders.

  • I don't have tearing but I do have pretty bad hemorrhoids. I recommend laying down as much as you can and only sit/stand for limited times. When you sit try sitting on a pillow to help with the pressure as well
  • Sit on boppy pillow(open towards back) with an ice pack underneath.

Also the tucks wipes and medication cream.
  • You seem to have everything you need. Time is the only thing you need now. I had 2nd degree tears too n bad hemorrhoids. Use a stool softener everyday. Use the pain meds they give at the hospital. Just hang in there. It gets better everyday. I had my baby on the 14th and I couldn't visualize feeling this healed by now back then. I'm not 100% yet but it's much better than week 1.
  • Thank you ladies! I'm trying to keep my hopes up but positive vibes make me feel better. I'm just nervous to be alone with baby when my husband returns to work next week and am scared if I still hurt this bad how I would be able to go anything!
  • I have this so bad...the dr took 45 min to stitch me up. How long does it take for a BM? I'm day 3 and need to go..I can feel it...but when I try I can't! Taking stool softeners and miralax....worry I'm waiting to long and need to try harder
  • Are you eating stuff that helps you go too? For me coffee makes me. And lots of greens. I had a few days where I didn't go and then when I did it was no fun. But it improves with time. Also it seemed like a short walk would help.
Hope it goes okay for you!
  • I agree with PP - foods made all the difference for me. I had a 3rd degree tear and 'roids from pushing for 3 hours before a vacuum assisted birth, so the post partum struggle was real. I waited 6 days until my first poop, and I won't lie, it was rough. Take duca lax, drink lots of water and eat soft foods. The day I realized I just had to do it, I drank coffee, had a carnation breakfast shake for breakfast and oatmeal at lunch, a salad for dinner and then took smooth move before bed. The next day I read some funny blogs about post partum poop for inspiration, went to the bathroom and just let it happen. I'm three weeks today and feeling pretty good!
  • Thanks ladies! It happened finally yesterday lol! I'm still paranoid so still taking miralax and colace, and eating high fiber (fiber 1 cereal, prune juice etc) bc...

today I filled my post pardum Rx (was discharged only friday) and one is IRON ! praying I don't get stopped up again....
